Playlist Fatigue - Causes and Cures

Many users are digitizing music, using mobile wireless devices but still getting playlist fatitue. Others are using the Internet to tap the digitized libraries of many sources. These streaming audio sources are expanding rapidly and many are commercial-free and subscription-free. With the new audio sources and software such as SelectRadio, you too can find the cure to playlist fatique!

Reaching the Unreachable Consumer

Tools such as the Internet should be leveraged to provide more of the interactivity and commerce activities associated with product research and purchase. These tools can also reinforce the messages that consumers receive via traditional advertising methods and give both content producers and advertisers more effective ways of measuring their audiences.

Sonos Wireless Media Server

I absolutely loved the Sonos Music System. It is a completely elegant solution to a highly technical challenge: that of distributing your entire digital music library wirelessly throughout the house, while making it both easy as cake to use, and affordable to the masses.

Soundations Home Theater Stand

As for looks ... simple and elegant is what I call it. As you can see by our layout, there is lots of room for everything that we need and more. The stand is made of cherry wood, 3/8" tempered glass and machined and brushed aluminum.

Systems for Small Spaces

It seems to me the criteria for a small space entertainment system is compact size, diversity in features and ease of operation (always). I don't feel the condo dwellers should have to sacrifice any of the awesome experiences that new technology is providing.

Technology in Architecture

Whether it be a simple surround sound system or a whole house control system, the most important thing to remember is when to start planning. As an architect or builder, you will find that if you involve a qualified low voltage contractor early in the planning stages, they can make your job easier, less stressful and provide a finished project.

TechWatch 2005

Wired and wireless networks are slowly coming home sparked by sharing everything! Suddenly people are latching onto the idea of having a centralized storage solution that handles the whole families needs.

2006 - New Versions of Kong's Script: * He's always been king of his world, but we'll teach him fear. * Don't be alarmed, ladies and gentlemen. Those chains are made of chrome steel. * Oh no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty that killed the beast. In the 2006 remake of King Kong there are a number of different endings. Some of the people at the foot of the Empire State Building will be rooting for Kong…some for the toy airplanes…some for Fay. But most folks? They'll go home saying, "yeah it was a pretty good movie…and it was cheap! Heck in New York we've got lots of big gorillas."

The Rise and Fall of Betamax

Beta and Betamax decks are alive and well. You probably won't find them in your local home electronics store, though. Beta has been relegated mainly to television studio use as well as portable video news cameras.

Ultimate Garage Door Monitor

Remember, any amateur home automation enthusiast can tell you if the garage door is "open or closed" based on magnetic contact sensors, but a REAL home automation enthusiast can tell you within a few inches the EXACT position of the garage door itself!!

Viewsonic N4050w 40" LCD Display

I am impressed with the brightness of this display ... even in daylight ... and viewing at an angle does not degrade the experience at all. ViewSonic has been in the display business for many years and this unit reflects the quality of their business.

What Isn't Going To Happen In 2006

Well, we certainly will not see an amicable solution between HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD formats. Set top boxes will not be replaced by media center PCs and other emerging devices in 2006. Another hot button topic is rights management and consumer fair use. The industry will not see unanimous solutions or resolutions in this regard either.

A Look at the Digital Home Market

Most consumers don't consider watching TV from their PC to be an essential part of the digital home yet. It is the ability to move photos and music from PC to TV and to stereo and vice versa that is driving sales of Media Center products.

No longer a limited forum for sound engineers, the AES show now includes songwriters, music and sound designers, videographers, as well as offering a generous listing of exhibitors seminars and training sessions.

A Separate Tactile Channel

With the continued persistence of forward thinking home theater enthusiasts and manufacturers, dedicated tactile (motion) playback as a new standard in home theater cannot help but become a reality.
