CRESTRON INTRODUCES NEW ROOM SOLUTIONS AT CEDIA 2001

Companions for Crestron's distribution processors, new room control boxes provide an effective way to distribute video, digital audio and control throughout the home using standard CAT5 cabling.

INDIANAPOLIS, CEDIA 2001 (Booth #123) - As part of the new Crestron Home professional CAT5 video solutions, Crestron has chosen CEDIA 2001 to introduce new individual room control boxes.

A companion product for Crestron's new CNX-PVID8 video distribution processor, the new Crestron CNX-RMC and CNX-RMCLV room control boxes provide an effective way to distribute video, digital audio and control throughout the home using standard CAT5 cabling.

The CNX-RMC is a professional video decoder for distribution over CAT5, while the CNX-RMCLV is a CAT5 video and digital audio decoder, with switching for local audio/video sources. The new CNX-DAP8RC is also a CAT5 video and digital audio decoder, with switching for local audio/video sources and also offers an 8-channel surround sound audio processor.

Crestron room control boxes can be located in each room as a small switcher, allowing an easy choice of any video source from the home's central rack and display it on the monitor or projector in that room. They input up to four separate signals, which can include combinations of high-definition component video, digital audio, S-video and composite video.

The room boxes are also a convenient way to plug in touchpanels, keypads or universal remotes for controlling the TVs or projectors in the room from the room itself. In addition, they allow universal remote controls like the Philips Pronto(r) to operate TVs, projectors, other AV devices, as well as screens, shades and lighting in the room. With a local video option, the room box even inputs signals from video sources in the room like VCRs or DVD players and sends them to the central rack via CAT5 so they're available for display in any room of the house.

Ideally used in tandem with the new Crestron CNX-PVID8 video processor, a new Crestron CNX-RMC room control and CAT5 decoder in each room will receive and decode the CAT5 video from the VID8 and supply it to the display devices in the room. Combined with Crestron's CNX-PAD8 professional audio distribution processor, one of Crestron's CNAMPX 12 or 16-channel intelligent amplifier, and a Crestron control system, this video distribution solution creates a complete networked audio/video/control solution for the connected home.

CRESTRON INTRODUCES NEW AUDIO SOLUTIONS AT CEDIA 2001

Committed to creating the best audio solutions for homes of any size or shape, new Crestron Home(tm) processors, tuners and amplifiers provide audiophile-quality sound over CAT5.

INDIANAPOLIS, CEDIA 2001 (Booth #123) - Crestron has chosen CEDIA 2001 to introduce a variety of exceptionally crafted, ideally matched components that are the perfect solution for individual room and whole-house audio distribution.

Only Crestron produces the CNAMPX-16x60, a 16-channel amplifier for eight rooms, an ideal size for the majority of today's homes. This best-selling rack-mounted amp is joined by the CNAMPX-12x60, a 12-channel version for six rooms,

This year, those powerful amplifiers are joined by the new CNAMPX-2x60, a 2-channel version that's perfect for a single room. The foundation of a complete home audio system, these intelligent amplifiers run over the control network, provide remote system and zone on/off capabilities, and report their internal temperature for the protection of the entire audio system.

Ideally complementing these rugged amplifiers are Crestron's professional audio distribution processors, the CNX-PAD8 and the new CNX-BIPAD8. While the popular PAD8 handles 8 central sources in 8 rooms, the new CNX-BIPAD8 can handle 16 central sources, 8 local sources in 8 rooms, plus CAT5 distribution.

Crestron's professional audio distribution processors deliver audio from multiple sources into as many as 32 separate rooms and areas throughout the home, even via CAT5 structured wiring.

Running over the control network, these processors deliver audio from multiple sources into as many as 8 separate rooms and areas throughout the home. Multiple processors may be linked to further expand the audio distribution system into up to 32 zones. With CAT5 structured wiring, distribution of balanced audio allows equalization and gain adjustments for perfect audio reproduction in every room.

They replace a 16-channel matrix switcher, preamplifier and volume controls, resulting in tremendous cost and labor savings, as well as ease in programming. What's more there are no limits to the number of keypads and touchpanels that can control the sources, to the number of station presets or to the audio functions that can be programmed.

To complete the system, Crestron's ST-TUNE integrated AM/FM/TV tuner provides access to favorite presets for AM, FM, or TV channels, including digital station display and secondary audio program capability for foreign language broadcasts.
