Tech Homes Inc, a National ConnectHome Dealer in Acworth, Georgia, has completed a project within the oceanfront wildlife preserve of Debordieu Colony in Georgetown, South Carolina.

In August 2001, Tech Homes Inc. began their designs for this connected home by meeting with the homeowner and designing the estate to meet the homeowner's expectations of an automated audio system. The process of initial design takes about a week. After the initial design is completed there is a period of post design working with architects, interior designers and the builder during the building process.

The Debordieu Colony estate is a 7,500 square foot home pre-wired by Tech Homes Inc. for whole house audio using Crestron touch panels and Lightolier for lighting control. While the builder was finishing the home, Tech Homes Inc. was busy at their design center assembling the Middle Atlantic racks to be ready when the builder had dust evacuated the home.

In August 2002, the house was ready for Tech Homes Inc. to return for completion of the project that started a year before. They installed a system that allows the homeowner to store a library of music to load and choose from anywhere in the house. The next phase of the project was the media room. The media room is enhanced by it's own subsystem including a 50 inch Panasonic plasma controlled by Crestron. The master bedroom and guest room also have their own subsystems controlled by separate Crestron systems as well.

What is so unique about this project is the audio system has Klipsch speakers throughout the home as well as the roof deck, three porches, back patio center, underwater system in the pool and oceanfront speakers for the homeowners docking pleasure. Because this homeowner owns a boat and plane they requested a Davis Instruments weather station that feeds throughout the house for weather conditions before heading out.
