RIS integrator students get hands-on instruction at full week training sessions

SAN DIEGO, CA (February 18, 2003)-- Residential Integrator School (RIS), the training division of Home Controls, Inc., is featuring both Course I and Course II training sessions during one full week on March 17 through 21st, 2003. RIS provides a venue for major industry manufacturers to give professional hands-on training to systems integrators. This information, combined with the sales, design, and general installation tips also being taught, provide integrators with a firm foundation of automation and networking knowledge.

The RIS provides training by important industry manufacturers such as Leviton, HAI, OnQ Technologies, Premise Systems, and others. In addition, there is professional training in audio/video distribution and general systems installation techniques. With one full year of sessions now completed, the student reviews have been excellent. The training is solid, hands-on instruction designed to work in the field*with no info-mercials allowed. The RIS classes are kept intentionally small in order to feature a concentrated, hands-on learning experience with each product, as well as lots of interaction with a top trainer in their field of technical expertise.

Many qualified installation companies, such as security firms, electrical contracting firms, and even start-up companies, are technically knowledgeable but need some training on how to design, install and sell automation and networking systems into the residential market.

The Home Controls Residential Integrator School provides residential automation and networking education in the form of 2- 2 ½ day, hands-on training courses. Students learn how to sell, design and install integrated systems, what questions to ask homeowners and builders, tips during the rough-in and trim-out phases, and how to program the system and train the homeowner upon job completion. In addition, RIS provides hands-on factory installation training of structured wiring systems, intelligent control systems, lighting and appliance control devices, networking, and plenty of time for questions.

RIS Course I and Course II training sessions are currently scheduled for March 17th-21st, May 12th-16th, July 14th-18th, September 22nd- 26th, November 3rd-7th, 2003. The cost for each RIS course is $500 for the first student and $400 for additional students within the same company, with a discount for attending both sessions. Students are encouraged to sign up early due to the limited class size.
