PRAGMATIC RELEASES THIRD GENERATION OF CATST AT NSCA EXPO
Silicon valley company offers further improvements to patented a/v signal distribution system
Orlando, FL- NSCA EXPO, March 8, 2001- Pragmatic Communications Systems, the leader in audio/video control and signal distribution, debuted at NSCA its third generation of their revolutionary CATS system. Designed for sending signals over distances exceeding 1000 feet with no audible, visible or measurable loss, CATS continues rewriting the rules in the design of large residential and commercial installations. 8 zones, 8 sources over one twisted pair cable!
CATS, an acronym for Complete Audio/Video Transmission System, is the patent pending invention of Pragmatic Communications based in Sunnyvale, CA. Shah, who founded the company in 1994, described the system as "nothing short of a breakthrough in the way systems should be designed and installed." Shah added, "with CATS, installations are easier to design, faster to install, higher in quality, more reliable and totally flexible for future upgrading. It is superior quality with double the profit potential".
Just some of the new features incorporated into the system include front panel Infrared remote and RS232/RS485 control of the units, local A/V inputs with multiple source selection at both the transmitter and receiver ends, LCD display to show the selected input, and an optional, compact enclosure for possible in-wall or "set-top" mounting, in addition to the standard rack-mount.
Additional advantages of the CATST system are: superior audio and video quality unmatched by traditional approaches; uses low-cost twisted-pair cables, which saves time and costs; provides a complete system for switching, routing, distribution, and control; eliminates common problems such as noise, hum, ground loops, and frequency attenuation which plague traditional systems; includes an integrated IR control system so that all of the CATST components and all of the source equipment can be controlled from the remote locations; and offers expandability such that additional A/V sources are easily added to the system and made available to the remote locations through the distribution system.
Since 1996, hundreds of CATST systems have been successfully installed in a variety of applications, including media retrieval systems for schools, on-campus video conferencing, security & surveillance, multi-room A/V distribution in homes, and individual specialty applications. These types of installations can all benefit from the superior performance, ease of installation, and the unique advantages of the CATST system. These installations and countless others can all benefit from the simplicity of design, increased reliability, higher performance and "futureproof" flexibility of the innovative CATSÔ design. The latest CATSÔ is available for immediate delivery.
