Electronic House Expo, Focus On Broadband Throughout The House

WAYLAND, MA - February 7, 2000 - Technology leaders from Intel, Panja and SecurityLink from Ameritech will address attendees at the Electronic House Expo March 2-5, 2000 in Orlando, Florida's Orange County Convention Center. Two separate keynote sessions will focus on the latest breakthroughs and opportunities in the "connected home."

Neil Cox, president of SecurityLink from Ameritech, will present "The Last 100 Feet: A Strategy for Capitalizing on the Delivery of Broadband to the Home" on Friday, March 3, 2000, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Enormous resources have been invested in developing an electronic value chain that starts on the web with content providers and e-businesses, and extends to the broadband pipelines that are rapidly traversing "the last mile." The remaining obstacle to delivery of a high-speed data and telecommunications services is in the house - the last 100 feet. Cox will outline SecurityLink's strategy for conquering the in-premises space and making external connections.

Intel's Jon Bork will join Panja's Tom Hite, in presenting "The Breakaway Business of Integrated Content & Control in the Home" on Saturday, March 4, 2000 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Hite heads Panja's Consumer Division, specializing in integrating digital information, including streaming audio and video, with the company's broad line of home controls. Bork serves as General Manager of the new Intel Home Product Group Broadband Services Division. The expert team will discuss opportunities created by the long-awaited arrival of digital content through high-bandwidth connections to the connected home and how that content plays into control networks.
