Leviton's Desktop Stereo Modulator Offers Home Entertainment Channel with Superior Sound Quality

Indianapolis, September 6, 2001 -- Leviton Manufacturing Company expands its line of Leviton Integrated NetworksT structured media products with the addition of its new Desktop Stereo Modulator that creates an in-home entertainment channel with the best modulated sound available today. The Desktop Stereo Modulator combines composite audio and video signals from a variety of sources, including DVD players, DSS receivers and VCR's, and converts the digital signals to RF (radio frequency). The RF signal is then used to create a television channel that can be broadcast in full MTS stereo surround sound through a whole-house coaxial network to multiple televisions on the network.

The Desktop Stereo Modulator offers superior sound quality through its patented MTS stereo surround sound feature. It also provides a patented DVD-compatible technology that delivers better sound from DVD players than competitive modulators. Leviton's Desktop Stereo Modulator provides user-friendly push-button programming to set the desired channels. It outputs on any UHF channel between 14 and 69 or CATV channel between 54 and 94 or 100 and 125. Digital phase lock-loop (PLL) tuning eliminates channel drift, and the device's digital readout enables easy channel selection. For direct network connection, the Desktop Stereo Modulator is equipped with 1 RCA video, 2 RCA left/right audio inputs and 1 F-connector for RF signal loop through. It also provides a memory retention feature for power outages.
