HARMAN’s Revel Introduces C383XC and C363XC Extreme Climate Flush-Mount Loudspeakers

The XC series is perfect for indoor locations such as showers and saunas as well as outdoor locations including decks and screened porches.

NORTHRIDGE, California - HARMAN's Revel today announced the introduction of the C383XC and C363XC extreme climate flush-mount loudspeakers, two competitively-priced models designed to deliver true high-performance Revel sound in any location that is hot, cold, damp, humid or wet. The XC series is perfect for indoor locations such as showers and saunas as well as outdoor locations including decks and screened porches. Both models are resistant to corrosion from salt water and can be deployed in marine applications such as high-end yachts. The two XC series models are the first in a new range of extreme climate loudspeakers from Revel.

The C383XC 8-inch and C363XC 6-1/2-inch flush-mount loudspeakers can fit into a space less than 2.8 inches deep. Both models feature weatherized drivers and construction. Revel's XC Series meet IP (International Protection Rating) 65 durability, meaning they are fully protected against dust and can be exposed to spray and low-pressure jets of water from all directions.

"We created the C383XC and C363XC to deliver the exceptional sound Revel is known for to extreme climates where up until now high quality audio hasn't been attainable," said Jim Garrett, Director of Marketing and Product Management, HARMAN Luxury Audio. "The XC Series is designed to meet the demands of the harshest environments and provide consistent performance while also providing an attractive design that will blend into any environment."

The Revel XC Series loudspeakers feature black aluminum-cone, cast-polymer-frame woofers, 1-inch black aluminum dome tweeters and high-order crossover networks for clear, detailed sound, with a smooth tonal balance and extremely low distortion and coloration over a wide dynamic range. The C383XC and C363XC are designed for easy installation. Both feature zero-bezel magnetic grilles for a modern design that provides an elegant and unobtrusive appearance.

In order to provide a consistent aesthetic, the Revel XC Series 8-inch and 6-1/2-inch round extreme climate grilles appear identical to those in the rest of the Revel Architectural Series and will also be available for use with any of Revel's existing in-ceiling models of those two sizes.

The Revel C383XC and C363XC extreme climate flush-mount loudspeakers are covered by Revel's Limited Lifetime Warranty in the US and Canada. They will be available in August 2015 at suggested retail prices of $500/ea and $350/ea.

Platinum Tools EZ-RJPRO Termination Pod

Our new EZ-RJPRO Termination Pod is designed for the professional installer providing everything he needs for consistent, repeatable terminations and overall quicker and easier installations," explained John Phillips, Platinum Tools, Inc. product manager. "This heavy duty kit is the perfect solution when working with both delicate as well as high performance, larger OD cables that are tougher to terminate due to larger wire gauges, thicker, harder insulation on the conductors and pair separating splines. Not only will you overcome these connectivity obstacles but you can be assured that every termination will meet FCC specifications.
