Both Russian and global video conferencing markets show decline in volume for the third consecutive year. Sales in the Russian market fell by 7% in 2014, while the market volume is estimated at $80,000,000, matching the volume of 2011. Despite the generalized decline, TrueConf experts maintain that the year was highly successful for their company.
According to TrueConf, the volume of the Russian video conferencing market is estimated to be $80,000,000, which is 6.9% less than in 2013. Similarly, the IDC reports a 6.8% drop in global video conferencing revenues in 2014 compared to 2013.
TrueConf CEO, Michael Gotalsky says: "This reduction of the video conferencing market should not be considered as sign of stagnation. On the contrary, it's a sign of qualitative changes in the market: video conferencing is migrating from meeting rooms to workplaces and mobiles, and the price per subscriber tends to zero. Vendor revenues are generated by selling extended functionality for user accounts on these video conferencing systems. According to our research, more than 65% of all video conferencing sessions in Russia are conducted outside meeting rooms."
Despite the difficult economic situation, the past year has been very successful for the TrueConf. Due to several completed major projects, the number of paid corporate subscribers connected to TrueConf video conferencing solutions in 2014 exceeded the number of subscribers in the past 7 years.
