Kramer Introduces Fastest Ever Single-Channel 4K Presentation Scaler-Switchers

VP-798 and Award-Winning VP-796 are Based on Calibre's Proprietary Class-Leading 4K HQUltra Image Processing Technology

Kramer is proud to announce the recent InfoComm release of the VP−796 and VP−798, the world's fastest single−channel 4K presentation scaler−switchers. Both scaler−switchers incorporate HQUltraFast technology to switch in typically a quarter of a second, at least four to six times faster than any competitor in the market.

"They actually make switching look like a scene cut," said Tim Brooksbank, CEO of Calibre Ltd.
Based on Calibre's proprietary class−leading HQUltra 4K image processing technology, Kramer's VP−796 and VP−798 presentation scaler−switchers offer scaling capabilities far superior to conventional scalers. Both products can produce 4K−UHD images from HD content without ugly scaling artifacts and with very low latency.

"This is crucial for pro AV applications and not achievable with most 4K scaling solutions," said Brooksbank. "We achieve 4K60 4:2:0 and had to design and build our own virtual video processor chip to do so," added Brooksbank. "No third−party video chips had this capability."
Kramer's VP−796 won AV Technology magazine's Best of Show award at InfoComm 2015. The judges commented that the VP−796 is an "extremely well−conceived switcher with unique underlying technology."

The VP−796 is designed for lecture halls, classrooms, corporate and healthcare meeting spaces, houses of worship, and hotel conference venues.

"These products offer cutting−edge solutions in spaces where demands and expectations are high," said Aviv Ron, VP Business Development & Strategy at Kramer. "We are very happy with the market response and with the industry recognition the VP−796 has received," he added.

The Kramer VP−798 is a premium presentation scaler−switcher ideal for venues such as music concerts and TV studios. It comes equipped with an innovative and extremely powerful LED−optimized scaling algorithm (by Calibre) that can scale to arbitrary resolutions with pixel−perfect accuracy and excellent detail preservation.

Kramer VP−798 includes advanced HQUltraWarp image warping and blending and real−time warp adjustment for easy warp and blend calibration, perfect for large venue projection, simulation and immersive experiences.

Both presentation scaler−switchers offer a wide range of input connectivity for today's digitally connected Pro AV world.

VP−796 supports nine video inputs, including HDMI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT, VGA, Composite, and DVI−U. The product has three identical outputs with 4K support: HDBaseT and two HDMI (one via a DVI connector). It also supports legacy formats, all with exceptional image quality.

VP−798 supports eleven video inputs, including HDMI, DisplayPort, HDBaseT, VGA, Composite, and DVI−U; plus a dedicated Genlock input. The product has four identical video outputs: two HDMI 4K (one via a DVI connector), HDBaseT 4K and 3G HD−SDI. It also supports legacy formats, all with exceptional image quality.

PureLink - HCE III TX/RX: 4K HDR over HDBaseT Extension System w/ Control and Bi-Directional PoE

The HCE III Tx/Rx HDBaseT™ extension system offers full HDMI 2.0 compliance supporting HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Featuring PureLink's proprietary Prcis codec, a light compression technology, the HCE III can transport Ultra HD/4K, multi-channel audio, and High Dynamic Range (10 bits support) content over a single CATx cable. The HCE III provides HDMI extension up to 130 feet (40 meters) at Ultra HD/4K and up to 230 ft. (70 meters) at 1080p over category cable with embedded multi-channel audio, CEC pass-through, bi-directional RS-232 and IR control, and PoE - all with zero loss and zero noise. The HCE III Tx/Rx also supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio plus LCPM (up to 192 kHz). Additionally, the low profile "slim box" enclosure design make the HCE III ideal for limited space installation environments, such as behind flat panel displays and video walls.
