Z-Wave Frequency Extends Global Reach with Approvals in Caribbean and Latin American Markets

Now with representation on every major continent, Sigma Designs announces significant expansion of the Z-Wave frequency availability

Milpitas, CA -- June 30, 2015 --Sigma Designs, the world's leading provider of the Z-Wave technology announces today the availability of approved frequencies by the government bodies in 23 new territories. Spanning the Central and South American regions as well as parts of the Caribbean, Z-Wave frequencies are approved for use in the 23 countries and territories listed here.


The rapid proliferation of the Z-Wave standard across the globe has increased demand for frequency availability in new regions. With recently announced milestones of 40 million Z-Wave IoT devices shipped worldwide and 1350 certified devices, the Z-Wave ecosystem continues to dominate the smart home and lifestyle security markets. Establishing the approved frequencies allows IoT manufacturers to bring Z-Wave products to fruition in these new markets. The addition of these approved frequencies brings the total number of countries and territories where the Z-Wave wireless standard is available to 86 and now includes representation on every major continent.
