Aurora Multimedia Signs Strategic Partnership With Icron Technologies

Alliance Combines Companies' IPBaseT(TM) and ExtremeUSB(R) Technologies to Facilitate High-Quality Setups

MORGANVILLE, N.J. -- June 16, 2015 -- Aurora Multimedia, a leading innovator and global provider of state-of-the-art IP control systems and HD video distribution, today announced a new strategic partnership with USB and video extension manufacturer Icron Technologies. Under the agreement, the companies will combine Aurora Multimedia's industry-leading IPBaseT(TM) and Icron's ExtremeUSB(R) technologies -- enabling customers to create high-quality, rapid, and reliable media installations.

"Within today's A/V applications, end users have come to expect immersive experiences that leverage high resolutions, extremely fast transfer rates, and reliable data delivery over large distances," said Paul Harris, CEO, Aurora Multimedia. "By partnering with Icron, we're addressing these requirements head-on. Their ExtremeUSB product suite has become the gold standard in our marketplace for extending USB within any environment; when paired with our IPBaseT technology, integrators are able to simply create solutions easily that are powerful, flexible, and extremely easy to implement."

Developed and patented by Icron Technologies, ExtremeUSB manages the strict timing requirements of USB specifications to enable seamless USB connections over any physical transmission media -- including twisted pair copper cabling (Cat X), fiber optics, and wireless installations. To simplify installations even further, the innovation provides transparent USB extension capabilities, true plug-and-play setups without the need for any software drivers, and the ability to work seamlessly with all major operating systems such as Windows(R), OS X(R), and Linux(R).

"Icron is quite pleased to have Aurora Multimedia incorporate our ExtremeUSB extension technology into their new and innovative IPBaseT platform of products," said Robert Haefling, CEO, Icron Technologies. "The company's customers will certainly benefit with full USB 2.0 functionality over IP networks to coincide with their audio and 4K video applications."

Designed to revolutionize the routing and distribution of A/V systems, Aurora Multimedia's IPBaseT leverages 4K2K zero compression and zero latency IP technology in order to optimize A/V signal distribution, routing, control, and video wall processing capabilities. By combining the strengths of various IP and A/V standards such as MPEG-2, H.264, H.265, JPEG2000, IP USB, HTTP, Dante(R), IPBaseT provides dynamic A/V installations with the market's ultimate distribution and routing tool.
