HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- May 27, 2015 -- Women in Consumer Electronics (CE), an industry organization that promotes the advancement of women in the CE industry, today announced that the fourth annual Women in CE Career Enhancement Forum, titled "Find Your Voice, Own Your Career," will be taking place on June 23 at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City. Held in conjunction with CE Week and hosted by Women in CE, the forum will kick off with a networking breakfast, followed by a full day of sessions, workshops, and keynote speakers that relate to career enhancement for all corporate, small business, and entrepreneurial women pursuing a career in consumer electronics. A closing reception will wrap up the day's events.

At "Find Your Voice, Own Your Career," attendees will be treated to an opening keynote by Jessica Rosenworcel, commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Rosenworcel was nominated for a seat on the FCC by President Barack Obama, and on May 7, 2012, was confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate. She was sworn into office on May 11, 2012.

The Career Enhancement Forum will include a special Fireside Chat, presented by Diane DiResta -- founder and CEO of DiResta Communications, Inc., a New York City consultancy serving business leaders who deliver high-stakes communications -- and Andrea Smith, an award-winning news and technology journalist with over two decades covering consumer technology. In "Confidence Trumps Competence," DiResta and Smith will discuss that it's not what you know -- it's how you convey what you know. Attendees will learn how they may be sabotaging their own success without realizing it, and how it's important to be aware of how women naturally communicate differently than men. Attendees will also discover ways to present a stronger, more powerful image at work and in the marketplace.

Returning to the Career Enhancement Forum to lead a special presentation is Sam Horn, ideapreneur and author of "POP! Create the Perfect Pitch, Title and Tagline for Anything." In her presentation Horn will introduce her new book "Got Your Attention? How to Create Intrigue and Connect with Anyone," which sends a bold message -- being intrigued by others makes us intriguing to others. She will share her secret sauce for creating mutual intrigue and for turning frustrating, waste-of-time, one-way interactions into productive, mutually rewarding, two-way connections that get results.

Introduced at the 2014 forum by Deena Ghazarian, senior vice president of global sales and finance at Monster Products, the Women in CE Connect Program will return with a small group interactive breakout session lead by Samantha Smith, executive vice president of Etail Eye, North America, and Ami Wright, director of sales and marketing at One Firefly. Since Women In CE Connect kicked off last year, several groups continue to meet regularly across the country to encourage and support each other.

Madeline Di Nonno, CEO of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, will deliver the closing keynote address: "If She Can See It, She Can Be It -- Changing the Status Quo." The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media is the only research-based non-profit organization working with the entertainment and media community to improve gender diversity in children's entertainment through cutting-edge research, education, and advocacy programs.

"Our fourth annual Career Enhancement Forum will explore communications in the workplace, with a focus on providing women with the power to convey confidence and a professional presence, while creating more productive and satisfying interactions with others," said Carol Campbell, founder of Women in CE. "As always, we have an incredible lineup of speakers set to deliver informative and empowering presentations -- including the opening and closing keynotes, a fireside chat, and interactive workshops."

The forum, to be held at the Rubin Museum of Art at 150 W. 17th St. in New York City, is open to women working in all segments of the CE industry, including manufacturers, major retailers, specialty retailers, suppliers, integrators, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, buying groups, and consultants.
