CES on the Hill Brings Top Technology Trends to Nation’s Capital

Top Names in Innovation Share Spotlight with Startups at Wednesday’s Capitol Hill Showcase

Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14th, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) kicks off a week of exciting policy and technology events in Washington, D.C. aimed at showcasing the importance of innovation before members of Congress and the D.C. tech policy community. Event highlights include a dinner to honor public policy and industry leaders for their support of innovation in the consumer technology industry, a Lobby Day to advocate for pro-innovation policies, and technology exhibits to bring the excitement of the CEA-owned and produced International CES to the nation's capital. The annual International CES, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, is the world's gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies.

On Tuesday evening, CEA's 11th annual Digital Patriots Dinner will honor Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and Steve Case, chairman and CEO of Revolution LLC, for their roles in advancing innovation and supporting a legal and regulatory framework that allows tech innovation to flourish. CEA also will unveil its Innovation Scorecard, a first-of-its-kind report evaluating and ranking states' innovation-friendly policies, and present awards to Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, North Carolina Gov. Patrick McCrory and other leaders for championing innovation at the state level. As event sponsors, Audi, MakerBot, Parrot and Volkswagen will host demonstrations of their newest and most innovative technologies in the fields of automotive, 3D printing and drones.

On Wednesday, CES on the Hill, a tech showcase produced by CEA, will provide policymakers the opportunity to interact with the innovators and products at the center of some of the most critical, current technology policy debates. This year's event will highlight innovations in 3D printing, 4K Ultra HD, accessibility, drones, health and fitness tracking, safe driving technology, smart home, virtual reality and more.
