KWIKSET ELECTRONIC DEADBOLT BECOMES FIRST LOCK IN COMCAST’S XFINITY HOME PLATFORM

With SmartCode 914, Comcast Customers Can Remotely Lock Or Unlock Doors Using Xfinity Home App Or Via A Smartphone, Tablet Or Computer

LAKE FOREST, CA (April 8, 2015) - Kwikset, the leader in residential security, announces that its SmartCode 914 Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt with Home Connect technology has been added to Comcast's Xfinity Home platform. The first lock included in Xfinity Home, the SmartCode 914 deadbolt will allow customers to lock and unlock their doors remotely by using the Xfinity Home app or via their Internet-connected smartphone, tablet or computer.

Kwikset's SmartCode 914 deadbolt with Home Connect technology integrates with home security and automation systems, allowing the locks to communicate with other wireless products in the home including a touch screen controller, indoor and outdoor cameras, light switches, motion sensors, thermostats, water detectors and more. The SmartCode 914 also offers the aesthetic benefits of a best-in-class reduced interior size.

Said Daniel Herscovici, SVP and GM of Xfinity Home, "The SmartCode 914 provides a host of new use-cases and benefits to people with connected homes. For example, our customers will now be able to get in and out of their homes without carrying their keys. They can also let neighbors, friends, or the dog-walker into the house when they are not home."

"We are constantly evaluating new products and features to add to our growing number of devices for home security and automation," Herscovici continued. "With its unique features and functionality, it was clear that the SmartCode 914 was a natural fit for our Xfinity Home platform."

Keith Brandon, Kwikset's Director of Residential Access Solutions, commented, "We are excited to partner with market-leading brands like Xfinity Home, a solution that is bringing the next generation of home security technology to today's homeowners."

Other features of Kwikset's SmartCode locks with Home Connect technology include: Kwikset's patented SmartKey Re-key Technology, that allows homeowners to re-key their locks in seconds without having to remove the lock from the door; BumpGuard technology that protects homeowners from lock bumping; the ease of one-touch locking; and the ability to integrate with the widest variety of wireless security and home automation platforms in the industry.

The SmartCode 914 is just one piece of the Xfinity Home service. In addition to smart locks, Xfinity customers can control their home thermostat, lights, security system, and more. For example, outdoor cameras let homeowners watch the front door to see if a package has been delivered. And between the Xfinity Home app for mobile devices, the app for the X1 platform, and the Xfinity Home portal inside the house, users can manage their settings from almost anywhere.
