CEDIA 2014 - FIBARO Launches New Door/Window Sensor At CEDIA 2014

The home control system specialist FIBARO (www.fibaro.com) has launched a new Door/Window Sensor at CEDIA 2014.

The battery-operated sensor monitors the opening and closingof homes doors, windows or garage doors. The sensor's integrated binary input port allows it to be connected to wall-mounted switches, via which all FIBARO system devices can be controlled. Temperature sensors can also be connected. The Door/Window Sensor combines the functionality of the Reed Sensor, Binary Sensor, and the Wireless Temperature Sensor from FIBARO. As is the case with the Reed Sensor, this new component is mounted on doors, garage doors or windows. The sensor monitors whether these are open or closed. The Door/Window Sensor works together with the HC2 and triggers functions or pre-defined scenarios. For example, if the sensor is fitted to a front door, a scene (e.g. "arriving back at home") could be activated in the HC2 so that lights are turned on automatically when the door is opened. The Door/Window Sensor can also be used as an intruder alarm.


Door/Window Sensor has a binary input port as well. It can be connected to a typical wall switch, which can then control other components of the FIBARO system. The idea behind this is to enable the user to place a previously unplanned switch in any given location without the need to run additional wires. The Door/Window Sensor can also be used together with a DS18B20 temperature sensor for precise temperature readings. These temperature sensors can then be used to design a tailored heating/ cooling profile for the home. The Door/Window Sensor is available in seven different colors, to match to users interior design.
