CEDIA 2014 - Clare Controls Introduces ClareVue Lighting

Product line gives integrators powerful lighting options in growing mainstream market

SARASOTA, FL Sep 5, 2014 --- Clare Controls today unveiled its ClareVue lighting line, a full-featured wireless lighting solution easily customized to meet customers' evolving lifestyles and budgets. The system is comprised of Z-Wave certified lighting components - dimmers, switches, keypads, and receptacles - that network together and integrate seamlessly into Clare's cloud-based ClareHome automation solution for simple, secure operation from home or away.

ClareVue lighting fills a prominent gap in the middle of the lighting market. It scales far better than other affordable wireless systems, and with better economics. But it offers performance on par with luxury lighting systems that cost much more, particularly when integrated into the full functionality of the ClareHome automation system.

ClareVue lighting is based on Z-Wave mesh networking, the leading wireless automation technology. Powerful, reliable, and secure, ClareVue operates on two-way communications between all Z-Wave devices on the mesh network, smashing the troublesome 30-foot limitation inherent in lower-performing "hub and spoke" lighting architectures.

ClareVue lighting offers many benefits to integrators pursuing a volume-based automation business model in mainstream homes. While affordable, the system delivers easily customized, high performance across a wide variety of lighting types, including dimmable LED/CFL, incandescent, halogen, magnetic low-voltage, and electronic low-voltage loads. The components do not require special house wiring and, since Z-Wave technology is built into Clare's CLIQ hosts, a separate dedicated lighting controller is unnecessary. This allows for easy scalability in new or retrofit installations.

"The system also offers key advantages to end users," added Clare Controls Product Line Manager David Drab. "It offers settable trim levels that eliminate flicker and buzz and - depending on the load - can even reduce electric bills by as much as fifteen percent. Moreover, ClareVue is also one of very few wireless lighting solutions that provide reliable, near-instant feedback mechanisms that confirm users' actions. This is a huge benefit, easily recognized by every integrator who has taken calls from angry users who can't tell if the buttons they are pressing are having any effect in their homes."

Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events.
