CEDIA 2014 - Crestron Empowers Homeowners with the All-in-One Solution for Audio Streaming

Network Stream Player with new service natively streams Internet music and provides both wired and wireless options for streaming from Apple® devices

Denver, CO, September 11, 2014 -- Crestron gives each member of the family complete audio freedom with the new Network Stream Player (CEN-NSP-1). Easy to install and integrate, the player provides both wired and wireless options for streaming music from iPod®, iPhone®, or iPad® to a Crestron audio distribution system. What's more, it also gives listeners the freedom to enjoy SiriusXM® Internet radio without a web-enabled device.* Crestron is demonstrating the Network Stream Player at CEDIA® EXPO 2014, booth #150.

"Homeowners want to listen to their music in any room, at any time," said Dennis Fink, Audio Technology Manager at Crestron. "Our Network Stream Player provides the most efficient and scalable way to deliver streaming audio anywhere in the house, with or without a mobile device."

Thanks to native streaming capabilities, the Network Stream Player can access SiriusXM without relying on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Listeners don't have to tie up their devices or drain the battery to enjoy their favorite SiriusXM channels-and the tunes don't stop every time the phone rings!

Listeners can use AirPlay® to wirelessly stream music from their Apple® device to any room or every room in the house. Alternatively, devices can be connected to the Network Stream Player via USB using any Apple dock and/or cable. Wired connectivity opens up a world of possibilities with Crestron control and Apple services, including seamless integration with iCloud® and iTunes Match®.

The compact player simplifies integration with multi-zone audio systems such as Sonnex®. It significantly reduces the hardware, installation, and configuration required by earlier solutions. With its stereo and S/PDIF outputs, the player supports both digital and analog audio. Multiple units can be positioned throughout a home to provide a modular, scalable solution with independently controlled outputs. Likewise, units can be positioned at the rack and connected to iPod to provide each family member with their own dedicated music server.

With the Network Stream Player, everyone in the home has instant access to iTunes® and SiriusXM® while controlling the listening experience with a Crestron app or touch screen. It's the all-in-one streaming solution homeowners have been waiting for in a compact, budget-friendly package.
