Klipsch Introduces Second Soundbar Under the Legendary Reference Name

The same advanced acoustic engineering and industrial design from the brand's original Reference home theater line inspires the performance, voice and design of the soundbar.

INDIANAPOLIS (September 2, 2014) - Klipsch, a leading global speaker and headphone manufacturer, today announces the launch of its Reference R-20B soundbar. The same advanced acoustic engineering and industrial design from the brand's original Reference home theater line inspires the performance, voice and design of the soundbar.

"The Reference R-20B provides our consumers with a redefined audio solution that significantly improves the dialogue quality that is lacking from today's flat panel TV's," said Paul Jacobs, CEO of Klipsch. "The product combines handcrafted precision and innovative technology to deliver an unforgettable listening experience, while offering users the conveniences of plug n' play functionality, Dolby® Digital decoding, Bluetooth® wireless technology and 3D surround mode."

The two-way soundbar boasts premium drivers, two lightweight ¾-inch horn-loaded textile dome tweeters for distinctive high-frequency detail, and four 3-inch polypropylene woofers that round out the enhanced sound with crisp vocal and dynamic soundtracks. Its tweeters are coupled with Klipsch-exclusive Tractrix® Horns to reduce distortion and control dispersion in the main listening area. Included with the soundbar is a 10-inch side-firing wireless subwoofer that is housed in a MDF cabinet with a slot-port design for a deep, powerful bass. The subwoofer pairs automatically with the soundbar given its sophisticated wireless technology.

The Reference R-20B soundbar is compatible with most Bluetooth® wireless enabled devices and also offers aptX™ audio coding technology for lossless, high-quality music streaming. Its Dolby® Digital decoder allows the soundbar to automatically reproduce detailed, high-quality sound no matter what format of sound is coming from the TV's output.

Removable feet and included keyhole mounts provide placement flexibility for the soundbar to be mounted to a wall or rest in front of the TV. Distinctive Reference copper cones and detailing make the R-20B soundbar a quality statement piece.

The Reference Unity strategy is a global initiative that will align the majority of Klipsch's product offerings under the legendary Reference series. The new approach unifies the speaker and headphone series, making its superior sonic signature attainable to a wider audience at various price points. These tiered levels of home theater speakers, soundbars and headphones are precision-engineered and meet the brand's high-quality acoustic and design standards.

The Klipsch Reference R-20B soundbar retails for $799.99 (US.MSRP) and joins the in-market Reference R-10B soundbar. Both are now available for purchase at authorized retailers and Klipsch.com.
