CEDIA 2014 - LATEST RESOURCE FROM CEDIA HELPS DESIGNERS CONNECT WITH HOME TECHNOLOGY AND THEIR CLIENTS

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has released a 'Home Technology Client Questionnaire' designed to be used by interior designers and architects to help them bring greater clarity and definition to a client's home technology brief.

Available for free download from the CEDIA website at www.cediaeducation.com, the document will guide design professionals on the right questions to ask in the consultation stage of a client meeting. The 'Home Technology Client Questionnaire' is split into three categories: audio, video and other items, as a guideline for the designer to determine the type of technology required and the level of complexity that is involved. This will ensure an easier planning process for the design professional when looking at the aesthetics of a scheme, and how technology might fit within that design. It will also be a useful document to discuss with a CEDIA member when they are briefed to deliver the home technology solution for a project.


An FAQ section has been included in this document to provide useful information on home integration and the benefits of working with CEDIA members. This is the second resource from CEDIA dedicated to the meeting the needs of the design professional. A Glossary of Terms explaining commonly used acronyms and jargon currently used in the home technology field is also available to architects and interior designers.
