Kickstarter - PS Audio 'Sprout' Kickstarter Campaign Ends At $414,693

Campaign exceeds 1151% of $36,000 goal

Boulder, CO: (June 25, 2014) - PS Audio, manufacturer of fine audio equipment for over 40 years, is proud to announce that their 30-day Kickstarter campaign for 'Sprout', an all-in-one integrated amplifier, ended Wednesday morning, July 16, having reached $414,693 . The campaign, launched June 16, reached its goal of $36,000 in just over an hour.

"We're so excited to have reached nearly 900 backers with this campaign", said Scott McGowan, Director of Sales for PS Audio, architect of 'Sprout', and son of PS founder, Paul McGowan. "It proves to us that there is a market for high-quality music reproduction in the home, outside of the limited 'audiophile' market."

'Sprout' is a compact, simple integrated amplifier which includes a 50 watt/channel power amp, a phono preamp, AptX Bluetooth, a 24/192 asynchronous DAC and a built-in headphone amp. Slated to hit the market this fall at an MSRP of $799 in the US market, campaign backers were able to reserve 'Sprout' for as little as $399. 'Sprout' is designed to play back music the way people listen today: from their phones, computers, and turntables.

Pre-production prototypes of 'Sprout' were shown at the Munich High End, the world's largest consumer audio show, in May of this year. The response to 'Sprout' was overwhelmingly positive.

"Scott had to convince me that there was a market for a product like 'Sprout'," said Paul McGowan, Founder and President of PS Audio. "After the response we've seen at the Munich Show and from this campaign, I have no doubt that people want it. Scott and his team knocked it out of the park."

'Sprout' was featured in press-reports in North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Backers for the Kickstarter campaign came from 26 countries.

"We offered a stretch-goal to our backers of an $89.99 PS-branded power cable, if we reached $425,000," said Scott. "We didn't quite reach that, but we were so impressed by the passion shown by our supporters that we're going to include the cable with all shipments to our backers anyway, just to show our appreciation."

Shipments to Kickstarter backers of 'Sprout' will begin in September, 2014, with shipments to PS Audio dealers and distributors worldwide beginning shortly thereafter.
