New MS Lync Presence Functionality Augments User Experience When Connecting to Pexip's Virtual Meeting Rooms

OSLO, Norway -- June 11, 2014 -- Pexip(R), a global disrupter in scalable, distributed videoconferencing technology, today announced new features of its Pexip Infinity Version 6, enhancing the solution's native interoperability with Microsoft(R) Lync(R).

"Microsoft Lync is the market's leading collaboration client, with more than 60 percent of enterprises relying on Lync for their unified communications needs," said Håkon Dahle, CTO, Pexip. "Our latest version of Pexip Infinity provides an even more seamless experience for Lync users, and is a testament to our commitment in making the user experience as enjoyable and productive as possible."

Pexip Infinity's Virtual Meeting Rooms (VMRs) now publish presence information, which helps users connect to a VMR by showing which VMRs are currently available. In addition, Pexip Infinity now allows custom avatars (Lync pictures) on a per-meeting-room basis. This allows users to customize the appearance of their personal meeting rooms in other users' Lync contact lists.

Pexip Infinity provides industry-leading native interoperability with Microsoft Lync 2010, 2013, and Lync Online/Office 365, where Infinity supports Microsoft technologies such as RTVideo, SVC, and RDP. Organizations can simply meet and share data and presentations using virtually any enterprise videoconferencing endpoint, Lync client, or WebRTC-enabled browser.

In addition to Microsoft Lync enhancements, Pexip Infinity Version 6 offers new security features designed to meet the most stringent U.S. federal government requirements. These include Active Directory integration, role-based authentication, and secure NTP/SNMP to provide network and system administrators with the most reliable security tools for managing, monitoring, and controlling Pexip's meeting software. Other innovations include configurable conference participant limits that prevent the oversubscription of conference resources.
