Right-Ear/Left-Ear Technologies introduces One Bar, a home theater soundbar that actually "talks" differently to each ear to produce a room-filling soundstage. Engineered and manufactured in the US, its combination of brains and brawn dramatically raises soundbar performance.
3D for your ears! One Bar, the debut product of Right-Ear/Left-Ear Technologies, combines brains and brawn to immerse home theater listeners in cinema-quality 3D sound.
"The technology is far more advanced than anything in a soundbar today," said Marty Zanfino, one of the founders. Analogous to 3D TV, the soundbar creates separate right-ear and left-ear sound waves that simulate sound approaching from different locations. "Producing the width, height and depth of sound for each ear was the easy part," said Zanfino. "It's been done with headphones. The hard part was doing it in a home theater environment while preventing the right ear from detecting the sound intended for the left ear, and vice versa. That required a custom 16-channel parallel processor." Also included is a Raspberry Pi Linux computer module that enables Wi-Fi music streaming and remote control from smart phones and tablets.
One Bar's brawn includes 16 power amplifiers, 16 full-range speakers, and 8 passive radiators. "It's a lot of power in a compact package," said Zanfino. "One of our retailers demonstrates it by playing a movie in dark room. When he turns up the lights, his customers can't believe all that sound was coming from one product and one location."
Initial sales of One Bar have begun in the San Francisco Bay Area and will expand throughout the US and internationally. In the near-term, customers outside the San Francisco Bay Area can contact the company directly at http://www.rightearleftear.com to be connected with local AV integrators and custom installers. One Bar is available immediately at an MSRP of $4,500.
