Invenshare dealers will now benefit from a single website to research products and manage purchasing
SupplyStream (www.mysupplystream.com), the CE industry's web-based product mega-catalog, continues its growth by acquiring the inventory sharing platform Invenshare (www.invenshare.com). The move will make Invenshare a tightly integrated feature of the SupplyStream platform, and Invenshare dealers will now benefit from a single website to research products and manage purchasing.
SupplyStream was the talk of Cedia last year when it launched its beta website after two years of quiet development. The company touts the most up-to-date product catalog in the industry with over 170,000 current SKU's being fed to the site daily. Their catalog allows dealers to quickly and easily create, send, and manage purchase orders to their distributors and direct manufacturers. Two thousand dealers have already signed up for the ability to research products and place orders from a single web portal.
"We are always looking to add features that leverage our product catalog and make dealers' lives easier," says SupplyStream CEO Kirk Chisholm. "When we met Josh (founder of Invenshare) last year at Cedia, we knew he had built something our dealers would love. It's a perfect match, since we already have the tools in place that allow vendors to control which products dealers are authorized to share."
Invenshare was the brainchild of Josh Willits, a former integrator who wanted to solve the problem of stale inventory on dealers' shelves, as well as the difficulty finding discontinued items.
"That pile of old remotes sitting in my warehouse drove me crazy, especially knowing that another dealer was probably out there, calling his rep, looking for one as a customer replacement" says Willits. "Invenshare has been extremely well received in the industry, and we've experienced significant growth over the past year. When we looked at where we were going as a company, and the feature requests we've received so far, we recognized a strong alignment with SupplyStream. We're thrilled to offer our dealers all the additional SupplyStream features as a part of their current Invenshare subscription."
Willits will join SupplyStream as a VP of Business Development and will focus on strategic partnerships within the industry. Invenshare will be rolled into the SupplyStream feature set at no additional cost to current dealers. SupplyStream offers a $29/month subscription to dealers, with unlimited users for their companies. There is also a free version that allows dealers to test all of the features of the site.
