Christie Joins HDBaseT Alliance, Unveils New HDBaseT-enabled Projectors

"Christie is recognized as one of the most innovative visual technology companies in the world"

LAS VEGAS - NAB Show 2014 - April 10, 2014 - The HDBaseT Alliance and Christie, at the annual NAB Show, announced that Christie has joined HDBaseT Alliance and integrated the technology into its Q series projectors. NAB attendees were able to see a sample of the new Christie HDBaseT projectors at the Alliance booth (#SU 11914).

HDBaseT enables all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single 100m CAT5e/6 cable, delivering uncompressed high definition video, including 4K, audio, Ethernet, control signals and up to 100 watts of power. Powered by the Valens chipset, HDBaseT has become a global digital connectivity standard with a large and varied product ecosystem that includes video distribution equipment, displays, projectors and AV receivers from more than 90 manufacturers.

The Christie Q Series 1-chip DLP® platform - with brightness options ranging from 8,500 to 10,000 lumens and XGA, WXGA and WUXGA resolutions - is equipped with eClarity™ - advanced image processing that significantly enhances images by providing greater control over image sharpness, gloss and shading. With built-in High Dynamic Contrast Range (HDCR), image "washout" in high ambient light conditions is eliminated by adjusting the dynamic contrast to recapture detail lost by excess ambient light on the screen. Christie Q series features HDBaseT Connectivity for simplifying installation and management by allowing for video content, audio and control to be delivered over low cost CAT5/6e cabling to HDBaseT compatible products. Christie Q Series is also equipped with DICOM® (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) Simulation Mode for training purposes, all in an elegant design.

"We're proud to be part of the HDBaseT Alliance and announce that our HDBaseT projectors are now HDBaseT-certified," said Frank Anzures, senior product manager, Christie. "Our customers will be able to leverage the powerful combination of the Christie and HDBaseT technologies to ensure their installation projects stay on time, on budget and deliver exactly what their customers need."

"Christie is recognized as one of the most innovative visual technology companies in the world," said Micha Risling, Marketing Committee Chair of the HDBaseT Alliance. "As the broadcasting market continues to adopt the HDBaseT technology, Christie is already positioned to help designers and installers leverage the benefits HDBaseT provides."
