"With the HDBaseT certification, installers can be assured that other HDBaseT compatible products will seamlessly integrate with our Control4 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch."

Salt Lake City, UT - March 18, 2014 9:00 AM ET - Control4 (NASDAQ: CTRL), a leader in residential and commercial automation systems, announces HDBaseT certification of the Control4® 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch.

HDBaseT Technology delivers uncompressed HD video, multi-channel audio, power, Ethernet, and various control signals such as RS-232 (Serial) and infrared (IR) over a single Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. In addition to eight HDMI inputs and eight HDBaseT outputs, the Control4 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch features two local HDMI outputs, eight LAN pass-through ports, eight stereo audio outputs, eight RS-232 ports, eight bi-directional IR control ports, and an Ethernet port. The 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch also offers advanced setup options, including sophisticated EDID (extended display identification data) management to ensure fast and reliable switching between sources, along with a zone lock feature that allows a specific video source to be dedicated to a particular zone.

"With the HDBaseT certification, installers can be assured that other HDBaseT compatible products will seamlessly integrate with our Control4 8x8 HDMI Matrix Switch. Plus with Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP), setup is also a snap," stated Control4 Sr. Product Manager JB Fowler. "Once the HDMI Matrix is connected to the home network, Control4 dealers can use Composer Pro software to automatically install the applicable driver, eliminating the need to search for and install the correct and up-to-date driver for the switch or any other certified driver."

"HDBaseT provides integrators a simple and cost-effective solution for today's connectivity issues," said Micha Risling, Marketing Chair for the HDBaseT Alliance. "Adding Control4 to our growing roster of HDBaseT Certified devices is great for the professional community."

Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth

The new Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth replaces conventional keys with digital keys accessed through the Yale Digital Keys app for Android and iOS mobile devices, and through an app for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The Yale app allows homeowners to unlock doors, send keys to others, control when others have access, get a message when someone enters, and revoke a digital key at any time. Unlocking the deadbolt couldn't be simpler, whether using the Samsung Gear S2 or a smartphone. With the new Samsung Gear S2, touch the watch app to activate the digital key, then touch the lock screen to unlock the deadbolt. With a smartphone, Yale's "Twist and Go" technology allows the user to hold the phone vertically when approaching the door, then twist it 90 degrees to unlock the deadbolt. Homeowners can also unlock the deadbolt using its capacitive touchscreen and a four- to eight-digit code.
