New projectors offer high-contrast, bright image and long-life lamp on a classroom budget
PORTLAND, Ore. - February 27, 2014 - Visual communications technology manufacturer InFocus Corporation (www.infocus.com) is again making the PC unnecessary for visual presentations with its latest low-cost line of projectors, the IN120a series, which can display content without being hooked up to a computer.
"Forget about the need to control your projector presentation from a laptop. The IN120a has a two gigabyte internal memory to hold your files and a USB slot for a thumb drive, so you can show your content without any PC at all," said InFocus product manager Ben Joy. "Yes, you can still connect it to a PC or other device with its HDMI and VGA hook-ups or wirelessly with an optional USB adapter but it's just not required anymore; making your presentation easier."
The IN120a family is comprised of the IN122a, IN124a and IN126a each of which delivers 3500 lumens and feature a high 15000:1 contrast ratio. Each can display 3D content from Blu-ray, PC or other devices and can present content such as Office documents, video, audio and photos wirelessly from a laptop or mobile device. The three models feature different resolutions to fit the needs of every environment. The IN122a has SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, the IN124a has XGA (1024 x 768) and the IN126a has WXGA (1280 x 800).
"With a bright 3500 lumens, a really high contrast ratio and InFocus' BrilliantColor™ implementation, these projectors display darker blacks, lighter whites and vibrant, true-to-life colors even in a well-lit room," continued Joy. "It's an especially great family of projectors for the classroom environment due to its portability, low purchase price and long-life lamps."
The lamp for the IN120a series lowers the overall cost of ownership because it lasts up to 7,000 hours. If one were to use one of these projectors three hours per day, five days a week on average, barring any physical accident, the lamp should last nine years. Additionally, the projectors weigh only seven pounds so they can be mounted or are portable enough to move easily between classrooms or conference rooms.
In addition to HDMI, VGA and USB-A and USB Mini-B, the IN120a series projectors have two VGA inputs, composite video, S-Video inputs and supports audio through RCA inputs and 3.5mm input and output ports.
The InFocus IN120a projector series is available for purchase through authorized resellers and at www.infocusstore.com in the U.S.
