iPort Expands Partnership With LVMH Hotel Management to the Newest Luxury Resort Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives

Provides LaunchPort Technology with State-of-the-Art Wireless iPad Charging and Mounting System for Guests and Staff in a Hospitality Industry First

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.--iPort, a consumer electronics company that develops products to elevate the mobile device experience, announced today that it is extending its partnership with LVMH Hotel Management, the LVMH Group entity in charge of its hospitality developments and operations, to the newly opened Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives.

In a hospitality industry first, the companies collaborated on a custom-branded version of iPort's LaunchPort, the world's first and only wireless charging and magnetic mounting system for the iPad. LaunchPort is available in all 45 villas on the property and for use at the front desk, concierge, spa and on-site restaurants and bars.

"iPort and Cheval Blanc share a common vision of providing guests with the most seamless, first-class experience when traveling for leisure," said Derick Dahl, product manager for iPort. "Many hotels across the world are employing iOS devices in their properties to enhance the guest experience, but we are taking the phenomenon to a new level at Cheval Blanc Randheli with LaunchPort's revolutionary way to mount and charge iPads."

The custom-branded LaunchPort for Cheval Blanc Randheli consists of a sleeve and a magnetic mounting and inductive charge station for the tabletop or wall. Initially created for residential home automation, LaunchPort allows guests to operate all electronic controls in their villa including door locks, TV and lighting. An iPad is easily mounted and dismounted via discrete magnets that are embedded into the case and charging station. Wireless charging begins once the sleeve is mounted to the station, providing a faster charge speed than the provided Apple iPad charger, and allowing charging to happen in any orientation.

LaunchPort will also be available throughout the resort for staff to update and charge their iPads used to provide concierge services including booking reservations in the on-site restaurants and scheduling appointments in the spa.
