SAPPHIRE Shows Pro Graphics Strengths at ISE14

SAPPHIRE Technology is showcasing a broad spectrum of Professional Workstation Graphics and Digital Signage solutions at ISE14.

See us at ISE14 - Hall 8, Booth K245

SAPPHIRE Technology is the Exclusive Global Distribution Partner for AMD FirePro™ professional graphics. An international supplier and leading manufacturer of innovative technologies, SAPPHIRE has successfully collaborated with AMD for more than a decade, incorporating AMD technology into a broad range of products targeted to various markets.

A major focus at ISE will be the latest AMD FirePro graphics cards, which recently have been shown to deliver industry leading workstation performance under the latest professional graphics benchmark suite, SPECViewperf12. The test results show that AMD FirePro graphics from SAPPHIRE outperform competing products in all three performance categories mid-high, mainstream and entry level products. These results are a testimony to the work of the AMD FirePro team in working directly with ISVs to ensure industry leading performance and reliability in real-world applications.

In addition to workstation applications, the multi-output display capability of the AMD FirePro cards provides solutions in imaging, video walls and Digital Signage. On the booth will be a live demonstration of a Digital Signage application running on six monitors driven by a single AMD FirePro W600 graphics card.

The rendering power of the AMD FirePro graphics solutions is further demonstrated on the booth by Munich based agency Rayd, with an interactive video wall installation displaying content created in conjunction with the real-time software vendor Ventuz.

"We always use AMD graphics boards together with Ventuz when we create large video wall projects because AMD Eyefinity technology allows us to drive multiple displays in either orientation or direction ", said Oliver Grimm, CEO of Rayd. "Especially the new render setup manager of Ventuz4 plays perfectly together with any AMD FirePro graphics card and makes it incredibly easy to install multi-screen setups".

"To create cutting-edge presentations over six full HD displays our only choice is the FirePro W9000 with a massive 6GB of graphics memory. The FirePro W9000 features GeometryBoost and partially resident textures which allows high performance Ventuz-presentations over a resolution which could not be done before. If we need larger installations we use multiple AMD FirePro graphics cards which we synchronize via AMDs Framelock and the Ventuz clustering option to render large Ventuz scenes across multiple GPUs."

SAPPHIRE also offers a range of media players, based on AMD accelerated processing unit (APU) technology. The SAPPHIRE EDGE range of players has recently received certification from SCALA for its industry standard Signage software making it a prime contender for new Digital Signage projects. The booth will feature a live demo of the SAPPHIRE VS8 mini-PC player running the SCALA software.

SAPPHIRE will also be releasing a new metal-cased model in the EDGE Series. The SAPPHIRE EDGE DS8 is based on the powerful 4-core Trinity A8 accelerated processing unit (APU) from AMD, delivering excellent performance and high quality graphics, housed in a robust wall-mountable metal enclosure measuring only 168mm x 235mm by 46mm thick. It is designed for 24/7 operation in the more demanding applications of ProAV installations, POS applications and especially as a Digital Signage player.

Static displays will include accessories for the signage market from SAPPHIRE including extenders for ProAV installations using Cat-x cable or over fiber links, including the recently introduced SAPPHIRE PowerScale™ EF1K HDMI over Fiber audio/video extender. This transmitter/receiver set ensures first-rate distribution of uncompressed A/V and control signals over long distances at a very cost effective price.
