Yale Real Living locks join the OpenHome Partner Program and are first to be certified for iControl's Converge and Touchstone solutions, the power behind leading connected home systems.
LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2014 - Yale Locks today announced that its Yale Real Living™ intelligent locks are the first to be certified for iControl Networks' Converge™ and Touchstone™ smart home solutions, the power behind home management systems from leading broadband service providers. The locks have been certified under iControl's recently announced OpenHome Partner Program for device manufacturers.
As certified devices, Yale locks will operate with the full spectrum of connected home solutions, from self-monitoring and home automation systems to professionally-monitored home security systems. The interoperability of the iControl platform will initially be built on the open ZigBee standard and will eventually support additional protocols. With it, users will be able to control Yale Real Living locks and other devices throughout their homes via smartphones, PCs or touch screen.
"We're extremely pleased to have been certified for the iControl OpenHome Partner Program," said Jason Williams, General Manager of Yale Residential. "iControl's Converge and Touchstone platforms power smart home systems from many of the industry's major providers, so it's an important achievement for Yale to have gained this certification."
"This certification is an exciting expansion of the OpenHome Program, and will allow our cable deployment partners to offer customers a trusted and innovative door lock option," said Jason Domangue, iControl's Vice President of Ecosystem Development. "The OpenHome Program is really taking flight with a robust and growing membership of leading OEMs, such as Yale Locks, who want to extend their distribution through new partnerships, and help build the next generation connected home experience."
The Yale Real Living product line was built to meet the home automation market's need for technically advanced and aesthetically pleasing products that are secure, convenient and that easily integrate with each system. Yale Real Living locks enable homeowners to lock/unlock doors remotely, and with many systems, homeowners can also set schedules, personalize access to their home and even receive a text notification when the kids arrive home from school.
