HISENSE HIGHLIGHTS U-LED 4K2K TECHNOLOGY WITH H9 SERIES AT CES 2014

Patented U-LED technology combines Local Dimming, Smart Peaking, Image Compensation and High Color Gamut technologies for the most intelligent backlight control and the most vibrant color-rich scenes.

Las Vegas, NV - January 6, 2014 - Offering high performance display technology and state-of-the-art control of dynamic LED lighting, Hisense today announced the H9 Ultra HD Series with Ultra LED (U-LED) technology at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Patented U-LED technology combines Local Dimming, Smart Peaking, Image Compensation and High Color Gamut technologies for the most intelligent backlight control and the most vibrant color-rich scenes.

"The H9 series leads the industry in the number of controlled backlight partitions, and offers unique integrated performance technologies for the most enhanced 4K display quality," said Jonathan Frank, Vice President of Marketing, Hisense USA. "With ultra high contrast and accurate color reproduction, deep dark-field performance, and smooth motion display, combined with 4K Ultra HD, the user is immersed in a visual experience with a heightened sense of reality."

U-LED technology allows for more precise control of the LED panel through real-time control of the backlight distribution, along with the Hi-View™ imaging engine for an overall improved display. Using broad spectrum backlighting and Hisense proprietary technology to improve transmissivity between the backlight and the color filter, displays are capable of richer colors, and combined with accurate color matching technology, colors can be calibrated for a natural and vivid performance.

Smart Peaking utilizes adaptive optimization technology for up to 10x detail enhancement. A proprietary algorithm, developed by Hisense to control the voltage applied to the LCD module, also improves response time. The series also features UltraSMR™ Technology, which compensates for the characteristics of input signals, in order to achieve rapid and smooth motions as well as picture clarity. Users may choose cinematic motion playback or select from three frame interpolation settings depending on their viewing preferences. 4K Super Resolution Technology automatically upconverts all inputs, regardless of native resolution to 3840x2160.

The H9 series will come in 85-inch and 75-inch models; is powered by Android™ 4.2 and includes SMART TV features such as Netflix, Vudu HD Movies, Amazon Instant Video, Pandora, Chrome™, YouTube™, Google Play™ and the Google Play Store.

The H9 with U-LED technology will be available Q3 2014 at major retailers in the US and Canada.

The U-LED technology will be displayed on the Hisense H9 series at the Hisense booth 7243 during CES, January 7-10, 2014.
