A new multi-format video switch now available from Smart-e Limited offers significant savings for connecting multi-format video signals.
At the heart of the solution is a six-port video switcher, the V2V Max, from Smart-e's California-based partner SmartAVI. The multiple video format switcher incorporates an HDTV scalar which supports 1080p and 720p resolutions, making it perfect for presentations in conference venues, education facilities, corporate communications, banking and home cinema environments.
The V2V Max is HDCP compliant, supports multiple video formats including; two HDMI sources, VGA, component and composite video, and USB media together with associated audio. Inputs are automatically scaled and converted to HDMI. Simple, flexible control options include; RS232 for port selection, push-buttons and LED indicators on the front panel, and IR remote control for easy switching supported by on-screen display with menu selection. A USB port connects a flash disk drive, to directly display images and photos such as JPEG, PNG and BMP and replay MPEG1/2 and H.264 video files.
The switcher is compatible with Smart-e's range of CAT6 extenders, increasing the variety of applications and installations where greater distances are required. Extender options include the HDX-100 extending HDMI signals to 60 metres, the SDS-900 extender for signals up to 100 metres, and SDS-1003 wall plates for connecting portable devices which provide a comprehensive solution for BYOD.
As Jon Lane, managing director of Smart-e says "This solution will be attractive to companies where budget restraints would have previously ruled out the inclusion of a dedicated presentation system, and we believe this solution provides significant savings for connecting multi-format video signals. Additionally, we have created downloadable diagrams of example applications on our website to help designers and installers offer their customers complete solutions."
