Mitsubishi Electric designed the tool to make it easier than ever to showcase and sell America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems.
SUWANEE, Ga., July 25, 2013 - The new meVIEW™ AR app, the latest in a series of mobile applications from Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division (Mitsubishi Electric), provides homeowners and professionals with an augmented reality visualization of a Mitsubishi Electric ductless product positioned within a desired space. As the cooling and heating industry's trailblazer in digital programs for both customers and distributors, Mitsubishi Electric designed the tool to make it easier than ever to showcase and sell America's No. 1 selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems.
Available for use with iPad via the meSync™ custom enterprise app program, meVIEW AR allows the contractor to show a homeowner a model of a Mitsubishi Electric indoor or outdoor unit in the actual space through the iPad camera. The meVIEW AR app has evolved from the original meVIEW app, launched in 2011, which allowed users to take photographs and insert product models into the frame. This more dynamic augmented reality app shows the indoor and outdoor models from all angles.
"The meVIEW AR app is our solution to one of the most common questions we hear from potential customers, 'What will a ductless system look like in my room?'" says Gabriel Weiss, interactive and emerging technologies manager, Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division. "Purchasing a cooling and heating system is an important decision, and we want our customers to feel comfortable with the aesthetics. The meVIEW AR app creates a visual addressing uncertainty about appearance and helps contractors with their sales process."
The meVIEW AR app works with a custom-printed, large Post-it® note as the marker. The contractor places the marker in the location where the unit would be mounted, and the app translates the marker into a scaled 3-D model on the iPad screen. Contractors can order the marker pads through the Mitsubishi Electric Member Zone Extranet literature order form.
meVIEW AR offers contractors a competitive edge by showing customers how the proposed system will fit into their room designs. Contractors can save the meVIEW AR image and email it to a homeowner along with the bid. They can also reference the indoor or outdoor unit placement during installation.
"One of Mitsubishi Electric's strengths is making the lives of professionals and their customers a little more convenient," says Weiss. "This new augmented reality app takes that convenience to the next level. We're using technology to develop tools that make it easier for contractors to educate their customers and enhance their selling process."
The meVIEW AR app is available for free through the meSync Program. Authorized companies can register through the Mitsubishi Electric Member Zone Extranet. To learn more about products from Mitsubishi Electric US Cooling & Heating Division, visit www.mehvac.com.
