Best Western Brings Disney Channel Stars to Life at its North American Hotels Through Augmented Reality Promotion

One of the summer's hottest movies is coming to life in the lobby of more than 2,200 Best Western hotels in North America. The World's Biggest® Hotel Family is teaming up with Disney Channel for the first widespread use of augmented reality technology by a hotel brand.

One of the summer's hottest movies is coming to life in the lobby of more than 2,200 Best Western hotels in North America. The World's Biggest® Hotel Family is teaming up with Disney Channel for the first widespread use of augmented reality technology by a hotel brand.

Travelers who enter any Best Western hotel in North America will be greeted by a life-sized display featuring Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell, stars of the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie "Teen Beach Movie." Guests can download the free Best Western ALIVE! app, available through the iTunes App Store or Google Play, to "activate" the stars - creating an augmented reality experience that allows users to strike a pose "with" the movie's characters Brady (Ross Lynch) or McKenzie (Maia Mitchell) and share the image with friends.

Along with sharing photos of themselves "with" the stars, using the new interactive display also gives guests the opportunity to enter the "Teen Beach Movie" Summer Vacation Sweepstakes, which will award one lucky winner and three guests a two night vacation to Los Angeles to meet Ross and Maia and receive an autographed surfboard. Fifty other sweepstakes participants will win a $100 Best Western Travel Card which can be used like cash at any of Best Western's 4,000 hotels worldwide.
