The annual BIID conference provides designers and industry partners with a forum to discuss industry issues and best practices.

Since joining the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) as an Industry Partner, Creston has supported the annual conference as a sponsor and returns this year with fellow sponsors Roca and Heal's. The annual BIID conference provides designers and industry partners with a forum to discuss industry issues and best practices. This year's theme, Design Invention: Art and Science Collide, is a perfect fit for the integrated technology specialist and finds both Crestron and the BIID singing from the same hymn sheet.

Crestron system design engineer, Phillip Pini, has been working closely with the BIID and other sponsors in the build-up to the conference, "We are excited to be a part of this year's conference as the theme - and collaboration opportunities with the other sponsors - is creatively and technically aligned with our Integrated by Design™ approach to technology and design."

Bridging the gap between technology and design has long been a pursuit of Crestron's but in the tech realm it has been a lonely furrow to plough. Its Integrated by Design approach appreciates that Crestron systems are one part of the complex fabric of peoples' lives, whether that be at home or at work. As such, Crestron's partnerships with interior designers are crucial to balancing what were previously competing disciplines that now happily enjoy harmony.

"We already enjoy an extremely healthy relationship with Crestron at the BIID but to have them onboard again at this year's conference is particularly fitting as there is such synergy between its work and our theme," says Debra McQuin, Marketing Director. "I've already had a sneak preview of what they are planning with our other sponsors and it's both encouraging and exciting to see this collaboration."

Furthering its ties with the design community, Crestron will be launching a new showroom at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour later this year, which is being designed by BIID member, Louise Bradley. Crestron hopes to work with an increasing network of interior designers and the new space at Chelsea will offer clients and partners a selection of working, tactile solutions for both the home and office.

For more information on the Chelsea showroom please keep an eye on over the coming months and we look forward to meeting you all at BIID Conference 2013.
