HydraConnect LLC Debuts New Variant of its Flagship Intelligent HDMI Matrix Processor

The HydraConnect LLC HS-3 is an 8 x 8 Intelligent HDMI Matrix Switch that includes the rich feature set and full HDBaseT outputs of the top-of-the-line HSS-3, but without the analog audio switching matrix at a substantially lower cost.

DENVER (6/11/13) -- HydraConnect LLC has announced a new addition to their line of intelligent HDMI Switching systems. The new HS-3 borrows the video and HDMI switching technology of the HSS-3 Flagship while allowing users to select their own analog audio switching solution. All the advanced features of the HSS-3 such as automatic setup, CEC control of sources and displays, the easy to use web based interface, remote access, and automatic cloud based updates are all packed into the small 2U rack mountable chassis. Like the HSS-3, the HS-3 has eight HDMI inputs and eight full HDBaseT outputs with two selectable local HDMI outputs.

"The new HS-3 configuration was the most requested variant of the HSS-3 Flagship model," said David Schanin, President, HydraConnect LLC. "For example, a growing number of Component Video installations require an upgrade to HDMI while retaining the in-place audio distribution. By letting the integrator choose their own analog audio solution while keeping our advanced HDMI technology from the flagship unit, and reducing the HS-3's cost substantially, we have a product with unmatched value."

HydraConnect LLC's products differ from basic matrix switches by providing advanced system automation, automatic set-up, and interface processing through the use of an onboard Linux computer. The integrated web-based interface allows installers to use a laptop, tablet or even a smart phone to automatically setup and test all the connected devices.

HydraConnect's patented CEC Control software functions as a 'universal translator' among the many HDMI hardware control implementations to eliminate IR flashers. HydraConnect's processing capabilities also include patent-pending Dynamic EDID electronic device identification management that automatically manages 3D sources with mixed 3D and 2D TVs.

Installed HydraConnect products that are connected to the internet are part of HydraConnect's "Cloud," so when software updates are available, they occur automatically in the early morning hours without user intervention or dealer visits. Remote access capability is also built in and enables a technician or the factory to troubleshoot the system from anywhere in the world.

Availability of the HS-3 will be early July at a MAP of $6,599. Pre-orders are being accepted at this time. The Flagship HSS-3 is currently available at a MAP of $7,999. All of HydraConnect's switching products are proudly made in Denver, Colorado.

The company recently announced a 5 year warranty on the entire HydraConnect product line. System drivers are available to provide full compatibility with Savant, Control4, Crestron, iRule, Bitwise Controls, and Elan g! home automation systems.

PureLink - HCE III TX/RX: 4K HDR over HDBaseT Extension System w/ Control and Bi-Directional PoE

The HCE III Tx/Rx HDBaseT™ extension system offers full HDMI 2.0 compliance supporting HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Featuring PureLink's proprietary Prcis codec, a light compression technology, the HCE III can transport Ultra HD/4K, multi-channel audio, and High Dynamic Range (10 bits support) content over a single CATx cable. The HCE III provides HDMI extension up to 130 feet (40 meters) at Ultra HD/4K and up to 230 ft. (70 meters) at 1080p over category cable with embedded multi-channel audio, CEC pass-through, bi-directional RS-232 and IR control, and PoE - all with zero loss and zero noise. The HCE III Tx/Rx also supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio plus LCPM (up to 192 kHz). Additionally, the low profile "slim box" enclosure design make the HCE III ideal for limited space installation environments, such as behind flat panel displays and video walls.
