InfoComm 2013

BEAVERTON, Ore.--The HDBaseT Alliance (Booth #2889) at InfoComm 2013 next month will announce it has doubled in size in less than a year to more than 60 member companies. The HDBaseT Alliance InfoComm exhibit will feature dozens of new HDBaseT-enabled components across new categories including new projectors from Hitachi and NEC, displays from Panasonic and AV receivers from Pioneer.

The HDBaseT technology, powered by Valens chipset, enables all-in-one connectivity between HD video sources and remote displays through a single 100m/328ft CAT5e/6 cable, delivering uncompressed high definition 4k video, audio, Internet, control signals and up to 100 watts of power.

"The growth of HDBaseT since InfoComm 2012 in terms of adoption rate, the product ecosystem and the HDBaseT Alliance membership exceeds what even we had hoped for," said Micha Risling, Marketing Committee Chair, the HDBaseT Alliance. "We're heading into InfoComm 2013 having added several new Alliance members this year including Belkin, Epson, Pioneer, Onkyo and Hitachi, and visitors to our booth will see the fully interoperable HDBaseT ecosystem of end-to-end solutions."

The HDBaseT Alliance will demonstrate the HDBaseT Whole Home Networking model, and HDBaseT home theater set-up connected to a single-wire TV. In addition The Alliance booth will feature HDBaseT-enabled products from dozens of vendors, including: AquaVision, Atlona, Crestron, Emcore, Epson, Geffen, Hall Research, Hitachi, Kordz, Kramer, NEC, Panasonic, Pioneer, Primeview, Savant Systems, Shenzhen Shunxun Electronics Co., Ltd, Shinybow, Silver Telecom and Wyrestorm.

Visitors will see the diversity of HDBaseT products and learn more about the product certification process, which provides Alliance members with a formal framework that ensures cross-vendor interoperability and standard compliance.

"The HDBaseT logo indicates the product complies with HDBaseT standards for current and future specifications, is interoperable, and will work with other vendors' certified products," added Risling.

InfoComm panel discussion

The Alliance will also lead a panel discussion entitled "Best Practices for Installation of HDBaseT Technology," on Thursday June 13, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 311E.

Attendees will hear from their fellow professional installers and systems integrators on real-life installation use cases of HDBaseT technology and best practices for implementation. Panelists will also discuss the role of HDBaseT technology in delivering HD content, how it relates to current connectivity standards, and the future of HDBaseT technology.

New website

The HDBaseT Alliance will also unveil its new website that features a database of all HDBaseT-certified products, a feature professional installers and systems integrators frequently request in order to help them ensure the HDBaseT components they're working with are interoperable.

Along with meeting current and potential customers, InfoComm 2013 presents an ideal opportunity for Alliance members to meet one another. The Alliance will hold its annual members meeting to finalize HDBaseT 2.0 specification, and discuss future road map. The meeting will take place on the final day of the show, Friday June 14, at the Peabody Hotel.
