Leading Solution Provider to Offer Support and Training for Intel Distribution

LOS ANGELES, CA - March 13, 2013 - En Pointe Technologies, a leading solution provider of IT products and services, today announced that it is the first Value Added Reseller (VAR) to sell Intel® Distribution of Apache Hadoop (Intel® Distribution) software, support, and training.

"Hadoop continues to be a driving force in the growth of the big data landscape, and we are very excited to be the first VAR to support the Intel Distribution," said Herb Hogue, SVP of Professional Services and Engineering at En Pointe Technologies. "Teaming up with Intel affords En Pointe the opportunity to offer hardware, software, and services that will help companies achieve optimal results, both during and after a Hadoop deployment."

In an ongoing effort to address customers' technology challenges, En Pointe continues to invest in cloud, collaboration, and new technologies. As such, it has established an early foundation in the big data space. By using Intel hardware along with the Intel Distribution, En Pointe can further optimize Hadoop deployments for customers with unique capabilities and performance, in addition to improving data access, maximizing productivity, limiting energy consumption, and minimizing operating costs.

Additionally, if a customer plans to use the Intel Distribution offering in a hosted environment, En Pointe, in conjunction with dinCloud, can provide the software platform, hosted in the cloud, utilizing dinCloud's infrastructure.

"The support and training offered by En Pointe for the Intel Distribution for Apache Hadoop in both public and private cloud environments will help enterprise customers derive value from big data with efficiency and agility," said Girish Juneja, General Manager, Big Data Software at Intel. "Organizations looking for enterprise-grade support for Apache Hadoop on a robust infrastructure can now rely on Intel hardware and Intel software for big data backed by En Pointe expertise."

In conjunction with this announcement, Hogue will present on the topics of cloud and big data at an upcoming En Pointe/Intel/HP sponsored event on March 28th at the John Wayne Airport, in Orange County, California. There, attendees will "Journey to the Clouds" as they learn about the Intel and HP cloud landscape, preceding an exhilarating aerial tour of the California coast.
