The GAS EXPORTING COUNTRIES FORUM (GECF) permanent office at Doha, Qatar, located at the Tornado Tower, has chosen ARTHUR HOLM Dynamic 2 screens for their conference room.
Barcelona, Spain, January 2nd 2013
The GECF is a gathering of the world's leading gas producers and was set up as an international governmental organization with the objective to increase the level of coordination and strengthen the collaboration among member countries.
The member countries of the forum are Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates and Venezuela. Kazakhstan, Iraq, the Netherlands and Norway have the status of observer members.
The Tornado Tower is a 52 floor office innovative building, designed to minimize the effects on the natural environment. The outer structure is a key architectural feature and the lighting system installed at the junction points of the steelwork accentuates the form of the building at night with a spectacular effect, using 35.000 different light combinations.
The interior design of the GECF conference room has been done by Al Salam Industries, a part of the Al Salam International and the system integration has been designed and implemented by Gulf Business Machines. CGM is a leading IT solutions provider in this region, fulfilling the IT requirements of local, regional and international organizations in the GCC. With offices in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Pakistan, CGM is a certified ARTHUR HOLM dealer specialized in government, banking, telecommunications, retail and oil installations.
17" Dynamic 2 screens have been used to achieve better visibility and therefore focus on the presentations and so the delegates could have direct access to the voting results. The room has a length of 20 meters; therefore, it was requirement to provide the best visualization of the information to the conference attendants. The use of a screen that automatically rises and tilts 20 degrees was the ideal solution. Furthermore, the elegance of the monitors, which are built in a solid mechanized and anodized aluminium block perfectly fits with the table and with the interior room design.
The 3 central screens also integrate retractable Bosch microphones so both elements are stored inside the table desk when they are not in use, leaving a completely free working space.
All the devices are easily controlled by Crestron through the addressable RS-422 communication protocol of the monitors and the signal is distributed by Extron, who has supplied VGA and HDMI scalers and interfaces.
A Polycom video conference system is also used as well as a Panasonic 103" central screen.
