The 2012 winners of the annual AV Awards were announced at a gala dinner on October 12 at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Electrosonic took home two awards: Consumer Installation of the Year for the European Parliament's Visitors' Centre in Brussels, and Integrator of the Year. Electrosonic has won a total of 26 AV Awards since the awards began in 1999.
The Parlamentarium, the European Parliament's Visitors' Centre, is the first exhibition to be fully accessible in 23 languages and uses a variety of interactive multimedia exhibits to take visitors on a unique and personal journey into the heart of European Politics. The centre features two 360-degree theatres and a novel "voxel" display using 13,000 LED globes. Contracted directly to the European Parliament, Electrosonic engineered and installed the main exhibition audio-visual hardware for Stuttgart-based designer ATELIER BRÜCKNER. To date the Parlamentarium has attracted over 250,000 visitors. Electrosonic continues to support the Parlamentarium with a five year service contract.
"We are delighted to have been awarded Integrator of the Year and Consumer Installation of the Year" commented Sarah Joyce, VP EMEA. "The Parlamentarium is an outstanding example of the effective application of interactive techniques. Electrosonic are proud to have been a part of the team responsible for creating the first ever exhibition fully accessible in 23 languages."
Sarah adds, "Over the last year Electrosonic has successfully implemented a series of strategic actions dedicated to serving our three core markets: Entertainment, Corporate, and Control Rooms. This Integrator of the Year award is a testament to our dedicated teams who always deliver beyond what is asked of them to ensure our customers' expectations are exceeded in all areas of our business."
The AV Awards is managed by the UK-based AV Magazine, but judged independently by senior representatives from user companies and key industry players. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious awards in the AV industry in the United Kingdom.
