PSB Adds Imagine mini c Center Channel Speaker

Leading Speaker Specialist Offers Compact Home Theater Complement to Award-Winning mini

CEDIA Expo Indianapolis, Indiana September 5, 2012 -- PSB Speakers, long renowned for affordable excellence in loudspeaker design, announced the addition of the Imagine mini c, a dedicated center channel speaker to accompany its award-winning mini. Together, they form a compact, yet musically powerful home theater system delivering outstanding audio performance that belies both its size and price.

The mini c's acoustic design includes twin 4-inch woofers with a clay/ceramic compounded polypropylene cone and rubber surround, a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter with Ferrofluid and Neodymium magnet. Unique to the mini, in addition to the main ceramic magnet structure on the woofer, the Turbo-Magnet™ is another powerful neodymium magnet resting on top of the pole piece. The three drivers are placed in a horizontal layout with a rear port bass reflex.

The mini c crosses the tweeter at 2.2 kHz, allowing the drivers to be placed closer together than usual, minimizing interference between them and providing lifelike detail for the all-important dialog channel. Keeping the crossover frequency very low, relative to the woofer size, means listeners hear the same sound no matter where in the listening area they may be sitting.

Imagine mini c employs an elegant cabinet design in five designer finishes that has become the distinct hallmark of all Imagine Series speakers. Weighing just under 10 lbs., and measuring a mere 14" X 6" X 8 ½", mini c is easy to place. For a truly streamlined custom look, the PWB-1 ($100 MSRP) adjustable wall-mount bracket is available as an option.

For years, Imagine Series speakers have been hailed by critics and music lovers alike for their clear midrange presence, uncluttered bass, smooth extended highs and high-power handling. The Imagine mini c embodies these attributes for the critical "dialog channel" in home theater and provides an ideal complement to their Imagine mini sibling.

"The Imagine mini has quickly become one of the most popular models in PSB's history and is one of my personal favorites as well." commented Paul Barton, Founder and Chief Designer of PSB. "The mini not only looks and sounds great but it can be used effectively in a number of applications from music to home theater to desktop audio. Adding the mini c to our Imagine line will offer home theater enthusiasts a compelling mini 5.1 system that delivers remarkable value."

Imagine mini c will be shipping in November with an MSRP of $700 each in real wood veneers of Dark Cherry, Walnut or Black Ash and $770 each in High Gloss White or Black.
