Danville, CA, 8/28/12 - Fusion Research has announced several new audio streaming products designed specifically for the custom integration market. The three initial products offer 3 to 5 independent zones of audio playback featuring 2 dozen different apps; including Pandora, Radioio, SiriusXM, Last.FM, Slacker, and MOG, just to name a few.
"We saw a gap in the marketplace for a multi-zone streaming device designed with the custom integrator in mind," according to company president Joe Storm. "Integrators are commonly installing two or more consumer grade plastic-boxes in their racks, while programming each one with a separate IP address for their control systems. It's a big hassle."
The company turned the typical music server scenario around and instead offers a choice of streaming only units or, for a small upcharge, can add optional storage & high definition 96kHz/24-bit HD digital audio playback supporting most of the major file formats including; Apple lossy & Apple Lossless (AAC & ALAC), MP3, OGG Vorbis, WMA and FLAC. Ovation units are designed to be Squeezebox compatible, which means you can take advantage of the multitude of two-way drivers (Savant, RTI, Elan and more) and all the major mobile device apps currently available.
"Until now, the only real alternative to the plastic box scenario was an expensive multi-zone music server." Storm continues, "We felt that providing a 3 to 5 zone solution at price points starting under $1000 retail was of real value to the professional integrator".
The company plans on launching the product at the upcoming CEDIA conference in Indianapolis next month at booth #5355. In addition to the product launch, the company will have an aggressive demo offer available to attendees of the show.
