Vivint's Home Automation Canadian Customers Value Convenience, Remote Control Functionality

Users Remotely Manage Their System with Computer or Mobile Device----- Vivint's Home Automation System Allows for Scenario Programming, Giving Customers a Completely Customizable Experience

CALGARY, Alberta--Canadian residents are turning to Vivint™, the largest home automation services company in North America, to automate their homes and are praising the company's smart home technologies.

Vivint offers affordable home automation solutions that enable users to take control of their home's energy use and security with a computer or mobile device, making home management possible from anywhere. Calgary customer Nolana Baillargeon says the remote access technology fits her family's busy lifestyle and makes it easier to do day-to-day activities.

"We love being able to control our home through our mobile phones," Baillargeon said. "We even use our phones to control our door locks. In fact, just the other day we were able to let our cleaning lady in the house even though we weren't home because we were able to remotely unlock the door."

Another of Vivint's home automation features designed to add convenience for users is the ability to program different scenarios, making it possible to customize elements within the system to operate in specific ways, including programming appliances, lighting, video recording, thermostat controls and more.

"We have our system set up so that if we unlock the door between certain hours, the system disarms and the lights turn on right away," said Suzanne Couillard, a Vivint customer in Alberta. "It's nice because we're walking into a lit house. We also programmed the system so it disarms when we enter our code in the door lock, and now we don't have to run to turn off the panel with groceries in our arms."

Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth

The new Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth replaces conventional keys with digital keys accessed through the Yale Digital Keys app for Android and iOS mobile devices, and through an app for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The Yale app allows homeowners to unlock doors, send keys to others, control when others have access, get a message when someone enters, and revoke a digital key at any time. Unlocking the deadbolt couldn't be simpler, whether using the Samsung Gear S2 or a smartphone. With the new Samsung Gear S2, touch the watch app to activate the digital key, then touch the lock screen to unlock the deadbolt. With a smartphone, Yale's "Twist and Go" technology allows the user to hold the phone vertically when approaching the door, then twist it 90 degrees to unlock the deadbolt. Homeowners can also unlock the deadbolt using its capacitive touchscreen and a four- to eight-digit code.
