Co-authors Jeff Boccaccio, president of DPL Labs and renowned HDMI expert, and Derek R. Flickinger, an accomplished and veteran integrator, will debut the new book at CEDIA EXPO 2012.
Written in a plain, easy-to-read manner, the new series provides readers with an in-depth understanding of the HDMI system through a simple, conversational style. It features about 100 full-color illustrations in the first book and covers a broad array of topics to aid everyone from engineers, to integrators and consumers.
The series begins with Inside HDMI, a comprehensive look at the basics of HDMI and the common problems that plague it. Future books in the planned series are titled Extending the HDMI Platform and Troubleshooting HDMI, which cover practical applications of HDMI in real world installations and a guide to system troubleshooting, respectively.
Co-author Jeff Boccaccio is considered an authority on emerging technologies in the audio/video industry. An accomplished communicator, he has been invited to present seminars on sophisticated topics such as radio frequency technology, high definition television, HDMI and emerging technologies at a variety of Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) shows, CEDIA Regional Shows, and CEDIA EXPOs. He has also been the keynote speaker at a multitude of shows and events sponsored by specialty audio/video retailers, distribution companies, and manufacturers.
Also bringing his vast knowledge of HDMI to the book is co-author and veteran integrator Derek R. Flickinger from Interactive Homes, Inc. in Drexel Hill, Penn. Flickinger's skills and experience with the home integration industry and HDMI technology have contributed greatly to the book, ensuring that it accurately covers information for readers of varied backgrounds.
