Atlona(R) Now Shipping Award-Winning LinkCast(TM) Wireless HD Audio/Video System

Atlona(R) today announced that it is now shipping the new LinkCast(TM) Wireless HD Audio/Video System.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Aug. 2, 2012 -- Atlona(R) today announced that it is now shipping the new LinkCast(TM) Wireless HD Audio/Video System. Winner of the Electronic House 2012 "Product of the Year" award as well as CES 2012 Innovations Honors, the LinkCast provides a quick and easy way for users to get content from up to five HD sources -- including laptops, game consoles, Blu-ray(TM) players, and much more -- to displays, projectors, or A/V receivers without the hassle and unsightly clutter of cables.

With the support of HDCP 1.2 and WHDI 1.0 protocol, the LinkCast Wireless HD cuts the amount of cords and cables used in A/V systems by providing plug-and-play wireless connectivity of virtually any HDMI(R) source to the LinkCast A/V base station. The LinkCast system consists of an A/V base station (AT-LINKCASTAV), one expander (AT-LINKCAST-HTX), as well as an IR Remote Control for switching between sources with ease. Using additional expanders (sold separately), up to five sources can be connected wirelessly to each A/V base station to reduce installation costs.

Featuring MIMO technology, the LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System offers HD picture and sound capabilities, providing true whole-home coverage up to 40 feet without obstructions. LinkCast supports up to 1080p (1920x1080) HD resolution, full 3D HDTV video, up to eight channels of digital audio, and offers high-speed HDMI fully HDCP-compliant connections. To simplify installations, LinkCast expanders are USB powered, eliminating the need for an additional power supply.

"LinkCast is a game-changer for consumers as well as residential A/V installations," said Ilya Khayn, president and CEO, Atlona. "Previous wireless connectivity solutions simply haven't been a viable option for most systems. LinkCast is different in that it utilizes the WHDI 1.0 protocol for wireless delivery of uncompressed video throughout the home at resolutions up to 1080p. It surpasses competitive technologies by providing 3D support and expandability to all connected sources, low latency, multiroom availability, low power consumption, and outstanding and consistent picture quality that's equivalent to wired HDMI cable."

The LinkCast Wireless HD Audio/Video System is available now at an MSRP of $299.99 with additional expander MSRP at $149.99.
