URC Introduces Its First Network Thermostat

The URC Total Control® THZ-100 offers a brilliant two-inch color LCD screen and dozens of innovative features.

Harrison, N.Y. - July 23, 2012 - URC today unveiled its first advanced network thermostat, the THZ-100. The latest addition to the URC Total Control® family of whole-house control products, the THZ-100 enables custom integrators to offer comfort, convenience and luxury to their customers.

Colorful, bright and easy to use, the THZ-100 provides users the ability to control climate from anywhere within a home or business environment through integration with Total Control. While the THZ-100 offers five thermostat buttons, users can also enjoy two-way control of the thermostat via URC Total Control remotes, keypads, touchscreens, and third-party controllers like the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®.

Among its dozens of advanced features, the THZ-100 offers Intelligent Comfort Recovery. When users set schedules, Intelligent Comfort Recovery monitors the current environment and then slowly heats or cools accordingly, with dollar-saving efficiency, until it reaches the preset. Additional features include password protection for homes or businesses where access must be limited, and optional wired remote sensors to increase efficiency and accuracy of programmed temperature adjustments.

"With the THZ-100, users can control the temperature of a home or business simply by picking up a remote control," said Doug Cole, senior vice president and general manager of URC. "The automation possibilities are endless; for example, our dealers can have the drapes automatically close when the air conditioner kicks in, to help cool the building more quickly and save energy. For the ability to set the climate from anywhere, look no further than the THZ-100 coupled with the Total Control system. It does everything but control the weather."

The THZ-100's brilliant, backlit two-inch color LCD is easy to read and looks wonderful on any wall at home or at the office. Background graphics and colors on its full-information LCD display automatically change to indicate visually whether the system is heating or cooling during transitions.

The THZ-100 is programmable via the internet via the MRX-10 Advanced Network System Controller. Like all Total Control products, the THZ-100 is programmed using URC's Accelerator software. A mounting template, bracket and screws are included.

The THZ-100 has an MSRP of $250, and begins shipping today.

Total Control sales tools available for custom integrators include a 95-second, benefits-focused video, a new consumer brochure, and a consumer-friendly website and slideshow at www.MyTotalControl.com.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
