CEA's National Demo Days Kick Off at Local Retailers

July 20-22 Demo Days Focus on Olympics Viewing

Arlington, Va., July 12, 2012 - For the third straight year, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® is giving consumers the opportunity to see and hear the latest in innovative technologies at electronics retailers across the country. CEA's Demo Days is a nationwide campaign to help educate consumers about the latest technologies and have them experience those technologies at an electronics retailer before bringing them into their homes.

CEA will host three Demo Days in 2012, the first beginning next week:

· July 20-22: Experience the Summer Games Like Never Before. Electronics retailers will demonstrate how consumers can improve their viewing experiences with the latest features in connected TV, just in time for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

· August 17-19: Make Your Football Fantasies Real. Electronics retailers will demonstrate how consumers can experience football and other sports like never before through technology.

· September 14-16: Unlock the Power of Digital Audio. Electronics retailers will demonstrate the complete Connected Audio experience across a host of devices and show consumers ways to upgrade their sound systems.

During Demo Days hundreds of electronics retailers across the country will set up their showrooms with state-of-the-art demonstrations and ready-to-go promotional resources provided by CEA. Expert sales staff will also be on hand to help answer shoppers' questions and find the perfect home theater setups to meet their needs.

A recent study conducted by CEA found that consumers with Internet-enabled TVs use their displays to do much more than watch TV: 47 percent listen to music, 28 percent use social media, 26 percent surf the Web and 23 percent view photos (Source: CEA's Evolving Video Landscape study,May 2012).
