Gefen Streams Video, Audio, USB, Microphone and Control over IP

Three new KVM Extenders support today's most popular interfaces.

Booth N1021

Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen unveils three new IP-based A/V and KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) extenders at InfoComm. All three solutions use a sender and receiver system that allows interchangeability between all three solutions over the same Ethernet network. These products stream video at the same time and over the same network cable as two channel audio, microphone in/out, RS-232 and IR.

The recommended network is a Gigabit Ethernet LAN, which can distribute all sources from the sender unit to the receiver unit. A typical computer source is connected to the sender, which links directly to the network. The receiver connects the display and peripheral devices to the same network, providing KVM, control and audio using the same network cable. All three solutions support today's most popular computer interfaces: the HDMI KVM over IP; the DVI KVM over IP; and the VGA KVM over IP.

For all three systems, each sender unit can be connected to multiple receivers in broadcast mode to deliver the same source functionality to multiple destinations. Up to 16 sender and receiver units can be combined in any one networked system. Sender and receiver units can be configured to unique IP addresses and when combined, can be matrix switched for improved productivity. Each receiver unit provides two independent Ethernet jacks for connecting additional senders, receivers or other Ethernet-based equipment. Two additional USB ports on each receiver support computer peripheral connectivity at the display side.

HDMI KVM over IP

Delivers 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through, USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio using Ethernet connectivity. Sender and receiver units connect to an Ethernet switch or router, each using a single CAT-5 cable up to 330 feet (100m) in length to extend all five signals. Built-in EDID management maintains correct display data during all switching activity. Supports full USB 2.0 bandwidth of 480 Mbps. This product is also HDCP-compliant.

DVI KVM over IP

Extends high resolution video up to 1920x1200 with USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio in/out up to 660 feet using Ethernet connectivity.

VGA KVM over IP

Extends analog video supporting 1920x1200 resolutions with USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio in/out up to 660 feet using Ethernet connectivity. Sender and receiver units connect to an Ethernet switch or router, each using a single CAT-5 cable up to 330 feet (100m) in length to extend all five signals can travel. Built-in EDID management maintains correct display data during all switching activity. Supports full USB 2.0 bandwidth of 480 Mbps.
