Legrand Debuts the lyriQ airQast Main Source, A New Application Designed To Integrate Streaming Services And Stored Digital Music Libraries

lyriQ airQast Main Source Provides Flexible, Intuitive Multi-room Audio Distribution, Access To Streaming Audio Services And Locally Stored Files

MIDDLETOWN, PA, May 23, 3012 - Legrand, the leader in home technologies and solutions, announced the availability of the lyriQ airQast Main Source, a proprietary application that integrates with the company's lyriQ Mutli-Room Audio System and allows users to wirelessly access, control, and play their entire digital music collection throughout the home from a smartphone or tablet.

"Mobile control of digital music is one of the most in-demand services in the current market, which is why we designed airQast Main Source to simplify the process of accessing an entire music collection via an easy-to-use app," commented Fritz Werder, Vice President and Brand General Manager of Legrand. "The airQast Main Source includes a host of unique, innovative features such as direct streaming and Jukebox Mode across multiple platforms to create an exciting, intuitive user experience. This is how digital music should be enjoyed."

The heart of the lyriQ airQast Main Source is a single Wi-Fi module designed to feed Legrand's advanced Studio and Classic in-wall lyriQ Multi-Room Audio Systems, providing end users with versatile mobile control of their digital music library. Legrand's airQast technology allows users to select and play music, adjust volume levels, create playlists, stream music directly from a smartphone or tablet, and enjoy streaming radio services through their lyriQ system. All that is needed is to simply download the free airQast Controller app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store, connect to the local wireless network, and within minutes begin to enjoy crystal clear music from anywhere inside or outside the home.

The technology behind the lyriQ airQast Music Source's direct streaming capability adds an increased level of convenience to an already user-friendly system by negating the need for a PC to act as a local media server. In addition, Jukebox Mode lets multiple users wirelessly share music stored on their devices when connected to the network. With this feature, it is easy to build collaborative playlists, add songs, skip tracks, and control volume, all without connecting to a dock or wired input. Anyone with an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet connected to the local network can simply download the free app and instantly share music stored on their mobile device.

The lyriQ airQast Main Source supports up to four digital sources, including iTunes, as well as popular Internet radio and online music services such as Sirius XM, Pandora, Last.fm, and YouTube. And owing to the flexibility of the free airQast Server Software, new streaming audio services will be easily integrated with the airQast system by way of simple application updates.

Legrand's lyriQ airQast Main Source will be released in August.

airQast Wi-Fi Speaker System

The upcoming airQast Wi-Fi Speaker System is a truly unique audio experience. Legrand's airQast technology allows users to select and play music, adjust volume levels, create playlists, and enjoy streaming radio services through the speaker system from nearly any smartphone or tablet device. Users simply download the free airQast Controller app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store, connect to the local wireless network, and within minutes begin to enjoy crystal clear music from anywhere inside or outside the home. For use independent of a wireless network, the airQast system also features an auxiliary input that accepts any digital music source.

The airQast Wi-Fi Speaker System delivers 40 watts (RMS) per channel of crystal-clear, ultra-low-distortion audio from either a conventional analog source, or up to six digital sources, including iTunes, as well as popular Internet radio and online music services such as Sirius XM, Pandora, Last.fm, and YouTube, all from an incredibly intuitive plug-and-play wireless system that's perfect for retrofit solutions. And owing to the flexibility of the free airQast Server Software, new streaming audio services will be easily integrated with the airQast system by way of simple application updates.

With airQast, users will also have the ability to create as many as three groups for sharing streaming audio sources throughout the home via Legrand's free downloadable smartphone control app.

The airQast Wi-Fi speaker system will be available in August 2012.
