Crestron will work closely with BIID members, to marry technology and interior design, to further enrich the quality of projects and simplify the design and technology integration process
The integration of technology in homes has rapidly increased over the last few years; in fact, as home technology has become more accessible, consumers expect properties to include technology that improves their home experience. Many interior designers tackle the issue of incorporating technology into their stylish interior d©cor schemes and as a British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) Industry Partner, the Crestron team will help the Institute's members bridge the gap between technology and interior design.
Crestron understands the importance of integrating technology into a home without negatively affecting the aesthetics, and by becoming a BIID industry partner they will work closely with BIID members, to marry technology and interior design, to further enrich the quality of projects and simplify the design and technology integration process.
"There is an increased demand for technology within residential schemes," says Petra van Meeuwen, Marketing Manager at Crestron. "It is important interior designers understand how technology fits together and can be made to look beautiful. We want to demystify technology, interior designers shouldn't be afraid of it, if they embrace it, it could enhance their projects so much."
She adds: "We are incredibly pleased to have been accepted as a BIID Industry Partner, we are committed to supporting the interior design industry and with the BIID as the professional governing body, it is a huge step in right direction for us. By working with designers we can explain the benefits of technology and the wide range of options available that can transform projects. It will also give us a better understanding of interior designer's requirements, which will help shape our services and products, and improve how we work with designers."
